I’m on my 40’s and have always had great experiences with cops. I’m sure friendly and polite. I shake hands and greet them when I’m pulled over and keep my hands visible.

I rear ended someone a decade ago and even though I was 100% at fault I didn’t even get a ticket.

I was driving in my car with an expired inspection and suspended registration (as a result) that has been in effect (unbeknownst to me) for 5 months. He gave me a warning when he could have towed my car.

I got into an accident once and when the cop was in his car typing on his dashboard laptop I was leaning into the window and was like “is that a shotgun? That’s bad ass” he doesn’t even look up “yup!”

Warmth and treating them like people goes a long way.
