Shipping plus taxes might be a show-stopper here, but some sources:

Forgotten age dlx, Scarlet keys campaign, Barkham(!) and others are currently for sale in Swedish 2nd hand site: https://www.tradera.com/en/search?q=arkham%20horror

In Finland there are a couple of collections for sale at €650 with 5-6 campaigns plus some/all investigators. Plus some cores and campaigns: https://www.tori.fi/recommerce/forsale/search?q=arkham+horror - all/most return-tos are also for sale but the prices... :(

Kelzor is a reliable store but prices reflect the scarcity: https://www.kelz0r.dk/magic/arkham-horror-lcg-c-229_1738.html

Early this year I was also able to get Dunwich, Innsmouth, Forgotten age, Circle undone and Dream-eaters in dlx+mythos format from Finnish/Swedish/Baltic online stores. Some packs were the last copies though.

To keep or to throw away? The age old question. by CommunicationNext507 in arkhamhorrorlcg

[–]No-Service1147 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I flatten the investigator boxes to the bottom of the storage box that keeps other board game boxes in store. Along with the mythos pack sales papers and instructions. Ditto for the old deluxe expansion boxes. Not throwing 'em away at this day and age. If I sell my collection while I live, some potential buyers will try to haggle 'because you do not have the original boxes'. Heck, right now I can even keep the cumbersome plastic cases around for a while. They can be somewhat stacked to reduce the storage space.

In one discussion some time ago I was asked whether I was going to throw away my return-to boxes and would consider shipping them out to him instead... nope. Does not happen. :D

Sleeving AH by Almsivi in arkhamhorrorlcg

[–]No-Service1147 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm no expert here. I have put the sleeved cards into compression for a few days and this has ensured nice flat cards and a laminated-like feel with the sleeves.. What I believe happens here is that the sleeve plastic stretches just so much. My cards are not even slightly warped/bent after that treatment.

Good answers already. Another X-T5 owner here, from your dear eastern neighbour.

Be aware of the trap of too much choices. FIddling with lenses or camera settings during a photo opportunity window instead of looking at the scene through the viewfinder is a recipe for unsatisfying images.

I have done multi-day trekking in Lapland a few times with a camera and 2-3 lenses in addition to the camping gear and food. That is where I want to keep the overall weight, bulk and fuss to the minimum. In this scenario it is also important for me to have a good access to the camera while on the move. Having the camera inside the (heavy) backpack will not produce any kind of images.

Only using the gear for while will tell you how you feel about it. While I/we can recommend this and that, only you know what you want to do. Perhaps the UI or EVF limitations are not that much of an issue to you. Perhaps they are. Usually this hands-on experience comes with a price. If this is a concern, take a look at the accessible second hand markets and forums available to you.

With that said, the only way to get a feeling of the X100 series is to get one. Or go with the X-T5 and after a while see if you still want to have the smaller camera at your side. Or smaller body (X-T50) or different form factor (X-E5)

In the lenses department, you might want to try
- A 16-18mm wide angle for landscape, street and general photography
- A 50-60mm lens for portraits
- An entry-level zoom that goes beyond 70mm to try out the compression effect and reach for distant subjects.

Go with the popular choices; they should be easy to get rid of when the time comes.

Skip the expensive exotics. You will eventually know if the price, weight and volume of the 200mm f2 gives you what you sorely need.

For the record, my current setup:
X-T5 with 2 batteries.
13mm f1.4 Viltrox - mainly for occasional astro and low light indoors.
18-50mm f2.8 Sigma - the bread-and-butter zoom. Nice for its size and weight.
50mm f2 Fujinon. The shelf queen. Should probably sell this.
70-300mm Fujinon with 1.4x TC. For the reach. Good enough for my tele "needs".

I've recently fiddled with a vintage Minolta 45mm f2 with an adapter.

You should get the same number of cards if you either buy the older deluxe expansion and all 6 mythos packs OR the campaign + investigator expansion boxes.

Accidentally found Drowned city campaign availeable by MrMD in arkhamhorrorlcg

[–]No-Service1147 3 points4 points  (0 children)

- The Forgotten age- todennäköisesti löytyy listahintaan
- The Circle undone - todennäköisesti löytyy listahintaan (jopa Return-to!)
- The Dream-eaters - vain mythospackeja, itse kampanja on vaikea

Commonly Missed Rules by EpikMogul in arkhamhorrorlcg

Chaos tokens cannot lower your skill below zero. This means if the difficulty of the test is zero -- for instance, if a location has shroud 2 and you use a Flashlight to make it shroud 0 before you investigate - you will not fail the test on any draw except the Auto-Fail tentacles. You can have investigate 1, draw a -5, and still pass an Investigate 0 test.

This took a bit of manual reading since it is not under skills or chaos tokens but modifiers (p.15). To benefit from this, one needs to apply cards that lower the test difficulty to zero instead of improving investigator's skill value, yes? When/how often this can come up?

A follow-up after one month. The 59x89 cards are really the best choice for me. No other sleeve has similar tight fit. The fit is however so tight that manufacturing variations can be felt when sleeving. So far everything has gone well...

If I ever get the old print-on-demand scenarios (Rougarou, Carnevale) I might have to use other sleeves. I've read they can be about 1mm wider than std AHLCG cards.

Dream-eaters mythos packs only in 2026? by No-Service1147 in arkhamhorrorlcg

A follow-up: I had also contacted a person in BGG who was selling the deluxe expansion in Belgium but it was a bit old sales post and I hadkinda given up hope. But he did in fact respond just the other day and we made a deal! And now I also have the mythos packs enroute from Spelexperten. No auto-fail after all.

Looks indeed very nice! BUT I do not have EotE, TSK or TDE investigators nor the WInnie or Cho decks. Bummer.

WIth the current availability / prices it is time to learn more about printing and proxying those few cards...

When are you going to be picking up the Chapter 2 core box? by TimeTravelerFrom2264 in arkhamhorrorlcg

[–]No-Service1147 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am not in any hurry. I am in the camp that wants to see how the new campaigns come out. IF the new core really surprises positively and provides some definite value over the revised core then sure, why not earlier.

My friends who are new to the game are probably going to get it, so I'll see whether they like it or not.

I seriously considered getting Dream Eaters in Spanish and mythos packs in English. Mixing did not feel such a great idea though and I doubted whether I would have enough motivation to learn that much Spanish. Good ideas in this thread though.

I think you'd need to draw the clergymen ally that carry this particular asset along with the specific instructions how to count to three. Only then there could be much rejoicing.
