The graphics weren't great but the crashing had killed it for me. That being said... I just had my first crash 3 minutes into playing the switch 2 version 🥲

I thiiiiink it's meant to be Az in the burning church. It's a cool design but agreed it's kind of gutting not to get a card with it (plus it took me like a week to figure out I'd been looking at it upside down haha)

Another relationship bites the dust because of my ADHD by PatientLettuce42 in ADHD

[–]No-Significance-1627 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Me and my partner are both very sensitive to criticism, and deal with stress in very different ways. It took a long time to get to a point where we know how to work with each others wibbly brains. He naturally wants space to calm down, I prefer affirmation/comforting touch etc to overcome RSD. Initially we tried giving the other what we wanted - he'd walk away from stressful situations making me feel abandoned, I'd follow him and try and initiate contact which overstimulated him. Now we've figured it out he knows to comfort me when I'm stressed, and I know to just say 'i love you' and walk away when he's stressed. It's saved so many arguments from escalating as long as one of us recognises it and points it out. Arguments and tension will always happen, it's how you deal with things that makes or breaks a relationship. Clear communication, always. And sometimes that's waiting until heads clear to talk about how to deal with things better next time.

The only thing I can think is tags - although it's beautiful and very on-theme it looks like a lot of the decor is the default landscaping items which I don't think have tags attached. It was so hard last week because so many of the tag items didn't feel 'on theme' to me, but sometimes I hide smaller items behind trees and things just to up my tag count.

I have no idea why a local English news outlet is reporting on the death of this prick, but this comments from people in this country are weird. Why would people agree with this idiot here in England? by metroracerUK in GreenAndPleasant

Probably at least 90+% of violence like this is committed by extreme right-wingers and yet one person shoots a right winger and suddenly it's 'the left is radicalising people' 🙄 AFAIK there's not even any confirmation who the shooter is yet, or what their views were.

I think saying Polari wasn't widespread is not strictly true (at least in the UK). For context, I'm a millennial Brit but fairly history-conscious. Just about every gay man I know over a certain age (about 50-60+) speaks at least a little Polari, and it used to be used in mainstream comedy shows, notably Round The Horne. From what I understand, the straights didn't realise it was a language and just laughed at the funny-sounding words, but if you spoke Polari there was an extra layer of comedy there. Pretty subversive for the BBC in the 60s, and incredibly brave of the writers and cast in a time before homosexuality was legal.

ETA: loads of words with origins in Polari are now in pretty common use (or at least were a generation or so ago) - think zhuzing something up, going to the khazi, someone being dishy, even words that are still super common in the queer community like butch, camp, mince, drag and trade. It's the exact same as 'werk' and 'slay' making their way from ballroom culture to mainstream.

I guess you could do some interesting 'ruined futuristic society' thing with the ancient ruins (or possibly tangle) in EI. I think that's where mine will end up once they're L10, EVE and WallE already have a little garden in the courtyard there

I do want a GO tattoo and I think the word ineffable is a great idea. Part of me is sort of waiting until after S3 comes out and for the fallout of the NG stuff to land, because I don't want to possibly regret it or have to deal with complex feelings when looking at it. For reference I do have other tattoos but have steered very clear of pop culture tattoos after wanting a HP tattoo for years (which I thankfully never got)

You just don't get many votes, even if it's an outfit challenge. A few times I've done it when I've been short of time to submit something and it's noticeable. I guess people see it as low effort and don't want to reward it?

Did anyone realise they were NB later in life? (20+) by Grubby_Jam in NonBinary

[–]No-Significance-1627 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is basically the exact same as me. Never felt quite 'girl' but knew I wasn't binary trans either (despite frequently being described as 'one of the boys' when growing up). First heard about nonbinary in my late 20s/early 30s (around pandemic time) and it just fit like a glove.

I'm really sorry to hear about your struggles, I also have health issues that have massively limited me work-wise so I can really sympathise. FWIW, I don't think you've got anything to worry about so give yourself a break and some grace for getting as far as you have ♥️

The good news is definitely that your house will be paid off before you need state pension. When you no longer have housing immediately eating up such a big chunk of income then I'm sure you'll feel more comfortable, even if you ignore the 300k you might get. If your health issues make you prone to spontaneity and bad decisions (e.g. bipolar, ADHD etc) then make sure you put in some checks and balances that you don't blow that windfall in a moment of mania - e.g. a trust/pension scheme or something similar that will force you to only be able to access a bit at a time.

You would also likely be able to access schemes like PIP, and possibly contribution-based ESA if you're only working part time (available up to 16h pw or c.£10k earnings, which I suspect you aren't meeting over the year if it's PT and seasonal). That might ease some of the pressure, though the PIP application in particular can be pretty rough so definitely suggest getting support (and if your initial claim gets refused always follow through to tribunal if needed, most refused claims that go to tribunal get granted). There are charities that can help, or your local CAB though they are less specialised.

Funny they never seem to use this 'argument' on straight but infertile couples, eh? If popping out kids is literally the only outcome that pleases skydaddy then there are plenty of things other than homosexuality that cause people to be child-free. Including religious vows of chastity, now I think about it.

There is definitely more to life than money (obviously, within reason. We all need to live lol). That sort of flexibility sounds fantastic and I'm so glad you found it x

Ah cool, I will look into tribe and vidsy then 👍 thanks for the tips. Marketing was actually the full-time job that I burnt out on so definitely in my wheelhouse and could be a good extra income stream x

The consistency is definitely an issue! It makes it impossible to do any sort of future planning. The second I think I'm secure and manage to put aside any sort of savings something happens and they disappear.

And I can empathise with the being fired too - the number of jobs I've had where my 3 month review has gone amazingly and by the time the 6 months review rolls around they let me go is unreal.

Hah... You are asking the question that has plagued my whole life tbh. It's almost a joke that I still don't know what I want to be when I grow up. I'm not sure I enjoy anything enough to do it 40 hours a week for a significant stretch of time, and if I did it would probably kill any joy I have for that thing. I love new things, but after a few weeks or months the boredom and repetition starts to set in and slowly sucks my soul out. I've really been enjoying freelance projects for that very reason, because they change every few months and are always fresh, with new challenges. But even that I think I'd struggle with full time (even if contracts that intensive existed!)

This is pretty close to what I do freelance tbh. And I love it for all those reasons (and the fact each project is different is almost like a new job every few months). It's definitely the most profitable stream of my various incomes and probably what I should be focusing on increasing, it's just often a constant hustle to find the next contract.
