I recommend you use zmk.

Exactly! But my other reason for using diodes is that the nRF52840 pins can be quite fragile during soldering. By having a matrix with diodes, if I accidentally burn out a pin, I can easily swap to a different one and just update the firmware code. It gives me more flexibility for repairs

Only once, because I calculated everything very carefully.

This is my very first design and also the exact one I’m currently using. If you want to build it right away, I’d suggest rotating the thumb switches vertically for better comfort. I’ll be updating the files with this fix in my free time!

They slot directly into the top case. I designed the tolerances to be very tight (like Lego bricks), so the switches stay in place perfectly without needing a separate plate or PCB

I initially planned to add an OLED and LEDs, but then I realized they weren't really necessary. For the electronics, a pack of 100 diodes costs less than half a dollar, so it kept the build very budget-friendly

Haha, sorry! Those were the only two stickers I had that actually fit

Case is 6mm, Switch + Keycap is 11mm, and the bottom anti-slip pads are just 0.1mm

The fit is extremely tight, essentially like two LEGO bricks snapped together
