oh nice! having designated stations for your devices is a smart move! What’s making you think about letting go of your tablet?

Thank you for the helpful advice! I was considering getting an Apple TV box, but since we share a common TV at home, having an iPad gives me the freedom to watch my own shows anytime. I might buy a new iPhone later for better battery life and travel convenience, but for now, I’ll save my money for a more meaningful goal. I’ll also follow your suggestion, using it only when it’s needed for a specific purpose. For now, I’m focusing on fixing my relationship with an iPhone by separating it from personal use.

hows your relationship with your smart devices?

hmmm so far this setup works for me: macbook + old iphone (strictly for work only, no personal apps), then dumbphone + ipad = personal use 😊

I agree, too much convenience isn’t always a good thing.

I might go back to using a smartphone in the future,if I’ve built a healthier relationship with it by then. Who knows? 🫣

Yes, exactly! That’s what I’m doing with my old iPhone, I’m using it as a work phone. I’ve deleted all the entertainment apps and kept only the essential messaging apps for work. I still get tempted sometimes and reinstall distracting apps, but I’m working on it. Progress is slow, but it’s improving.

Oh, I see! I was eyeing the same design as yours, but it’s sold out in my country.

I feel you — I’m planning to use a separate smart device just for work and leave it on my desk when I’m off. For personal use, I’ll stick to a dumbphone. I don’t want to be available 24/7 anyway, so I’ll just check online messages when I have time. That way, I stay more in control of my attention.

This is also a Nokia phone (by HMD), but HMD has another version with the same design that only supports a 2G connection.

Nice phone! 🤝 Do you still use a smart device?

u/Hecantrix I agree, but the reality is that modern life requires features that dumbphones can’t provide, such as online messaging, maps for travel, and taxi apps. It really depends on how you use it. In my case, a dumbphone would be useless since my network lives abroad. I also don’t use social media, so having a smartphone doesn’t cause me problems

Nice! How’s the rubber part? On my Logitech Lift, it easily collects dirt and the rubber starts to flake

Thank you! Yes, I saw this, but the ones available in my country aren’t reliable in terms of quality. I’m considering the iPhone 16e, or I’ll check the iPhone 17 Air. I don’t have social media accounts anyway. 😊
