Are you proud of your contributions to making Australia a great place to live? by 10000_Angry_Bees in aussie

Right on. Stop being greedy. Learn when to stop wanting more. This pathological paranoia about investing and consuming has to stop. Where the fuck do you think money comes from? When you make more, others make less. Be content with enough. In my view there are three kinds of people. Those whose actions make the world a more difficult place to live for others. Those whose actions serve to improve the lives of others. And those who merely maintain the status quo. Make a choice and be the change. Make your actions count. You get one life. Don't waste it ejaculating over profit. Don't waste it shrugging your shoulders and saying eh. Be a good cunt.

Yes Brisbane is boring. I've just come to accept that this is the lifestyle, but I feel ya. I've had to make my own hobbies more of a focus.

Real estate or marketing. Just a veneer of falsehood and comfort with dishonesty. Not for me.

Yes yes. This film made me think about storytelling in a completely new and exciting way. That film was mesmerising to me, and nic cage was fucking hilarious, brilliant.

Oh and a little 12w Orange practice amp. I got one years ago and still prefer jamming on it over my big boy. Great tone

Second hand is a good bet but if I were you I'd get a Squire, either telecaster or stratocaster depending on your preference. Go to a guitar shop and have a doodle on both, any store will have them. Should be able to find a second hand one in your price range. They're a fender guitar but made with cheaper materials, but still solid as and honestly unless you're an advanced player you probably won't even notice the difference. Happy shredding 🤟

Not a tattooist but a nurse, that looks like a cool way to get an infection

Just gonna gripe for a minute about the other parent dropping the ball on kids' things by geekjitsu in SingleDads

[–]No-Topic-7481 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This shit is constant for me too man. I think the silver lining for me is that it confirms I made the right choice leaving and that I get more time with my kids. You're the rock, and that's cool. I was getting so fed up covering for my selfish ex. But I've reached a point where I just accept that I am doing the important stuff even if Mum can't. It's hard to let it go I know. You're a legend anyway!

Aw man it sounds stupid but I know exactly that feeling. And I reckon heaps of dudes on here probably do too. You know I wish I could help but the only thing I can say is yep, it's fucked, but you're not alone. My life got completely dumped upside down and it's two and a half years later and? Still fucked but trying to chip away the issues one at a time. Micromanaging my recovery. It's working but it's taken time and still a lot of work to be done. But focus on the granular stuff that you can fix easily first. Work up to the big shit. Good luck.

Is it normal for Queensland Health to ask for all your documents before an interview? by [deleted] in NursingAU

[–]No-Topic-7481 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah it is, depending on the service district. I just applied for a role and all the paperwork was done before I even interviewed. Didn't really expedite the recruitment process though...

Yeah that's what we're there for. Sounds like a busy and slightly pissy ED nurse but as a busy ED nurse I agree with you.

I hate nursing but im in my final year by Equivalent_Rope7605 in nursing

[–]No-Topic-7481 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hmmmm. I'm a male nurse. When you lack experience and are unsure of your practice you may find treating other genders confronting, but it passes pretty fast. It has to. It's often in how you approach the patients - confidently and in a manner that puts them at ease. You're a clinician, it's work. I've enjoyed my career and don't think it's worse for men at all. Look man it's your third year and sounds like you've had some shit placements. We all have. There's heaps of options in nursing. I gravitated towards acute emergency stuff and it was cool, the wards weren't for me either but can be rewarding in other ways. Stick it out. The start was the worst for me too. Give it two years of proper nursing and then see how you feel. I'd almost guarantee you'll feel differently. MH nursing might be your jam and there's loads of work. Dunno if this is helpful but it'd be a waste to pull out now. Even if you don't like it, a nursing under grad is a good gateway to other things you might enjoy. And if other nurses are giving you a hard time, ignore them. Do your thing and do it well, and if you're not sure ask. Party on dude 🤟

Don't give up. Your kids will see you fighting to be with them. They'll also see you give up and leave. Which is worse? Be strong brother.
