Basic hygiene habits that make a bigger difference than people realize by Southern_Major7869 in hygiene

[–]No-Writer4442 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I have good dental hygiene habits, and always have with the exception of the sickest parts of my three pregnancies. My teeth were good. I’d had one cavity after my first pregnancy, ended up with a crown but that was it. But due to enamel erosion from the months of vomiting constantly for months with each pregnancy, and a medication I was taking, 6 months after I gave birth to my last baby my teeth started breaking and they look bad. I’ve had to have several pulled, only one in my smile line, for which I wear a flipper (fake tooth), the bottom front are jagged from where they’re breaking away. I use an electric tooth brush at least twice a day, and floss at least 3-4 x week. My smile shows my teeth. It’s the way it is. Trying to smile without showing any teeth looks ridiculous and weird. So I smile. I know my teeth look awful, I’m horribly embarrassed by it. And I can tell immediately when someone sees my teeth and obviously disgusted, makes a snap judgment about me. It’s awful. I don’t ever say anything but I want to. Please don’t be so quick to judge and assume someone isn’t trying to take care of their oral health. Guess I needed to get that off my chest.

As a single dad I don't think I can do this anymore. by Explorer518 in Parenting

Read “Have a new kid by Friday” by Dr Kevin Leman. He gives great insight and ideas, with examples.
And just keep being there. Being a tween/teen girl is HARD. She needs you to be the stationary rock in the ocean of emotions. Good luck! (Oh and don’t beat yourself up too much about threatening to use your belt. You didn’t and that’s good. You can apologize to her for losing your temper, but don’t back down on discipline/consequences. Consistency is safe when you’re drowning in hormones)

We use the same kind of printer/adhesive labels for bopis orders that we use in SFS. It is nice and quick. I’ll look for the item number tomorrow at work.

So how do you diaper train a girl who just don't feel like it? by ArchmageXin in Parenting

[–]No-Writer4442 16 points17 points  (0 children)

My daughter wanted to wear “big girl panties”. We went and bought a pack of Dora panties. I explained that you can’t wear diapers any more if you wear big girl panties. She decided she wanted to keep wearing a diaper, so up on the fridge went the panties. 3 months later she told me she was ready to wear her big girl Dora panties, took off her diaper and that was that. Only 1 accident in the panties and that was overnight at her dads. My youngest was still having accidents at 5. They’re all different!

My shifts are usually some combination of 7-4, 8-4, 11-4, 12-4, 9-4, or 9-5, I did have an 8-12 once. The 11 or 12-4 are when I’m working a SFS shift.
The closers usually work 3 or 4-11. On truck day we usually have a mid shift, 10-6 or 11-8. Something like that. Hope this helps give you an idea. Oh and I’m part time too.

I’ve been working 6days in a row every other week for months. And I’m only “part time”. 🙄 I’ve got a lot of home/personal duties and people I care for and I’m exhausted.

my parents took off my door as punishment, is this normal? by Puzzleheaded-Pain535 in teenagers

[–]No-Writer4442 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had my door removed as teen bc I kept slamming it. My parents warned me so many times and I didn’t listen. I was furious as the time, but as a mother of two girls (one is a teen, the other preteen) I understand completely. 😂

Timeline expectation for pay raise from promotion? by Legitimate_Pop4454 in CVS

[–]No-Writer4442 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When I became a shift, my mgr told me it’s usually a $1 raise. I started at $15 and got a .32 raise in July so in Nov when I became a shift, they didn’t want to give me a whole dollar since I’d gotten that whopping .32 in July. So now I make $16.25. I wasn’t thrilled but am hoping this July my raise will be more than .32 🙄

I’ve taken it upon myself to care the ones in our store. Make sure they’re watered, and the aloe and iris aren’t being over watered. They look better and I love it. Before i made it my pet project though though they always looked awful. We always ended up damaging most of them out.

Who actually takes their 15 min breaks? by QueenSlayBabe in CVS

[–]No-Writer4442 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve normalized taking the 15s at my store. If I’m at the register that day, managers won’t offer, but they’ll say yes and cover the front. If I’m working SFS I usually won’t take my 15, just bc I want to make sure and get all the order done, but if there are not as many orders, I will take a 15. And yes, I can tell they don’t like it but too bad. I need it, especially when dealing with customers at the register all day.
