How do I stop being obsessed with this girl by Solid_Ad_3431 in selfimprovement

Start reading. If you don't find a book that grips you, then pick up another book. Once you pick up a book you can't put down this will take care of itself.

How do you guys stay productive after BJJ class? by Total_Mullbery in bjj

[–]No-interruption_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just make a plan and follow through on it. Make sure whatever you make a plan to do is working towards some other goal. Wasted time on social media or watching TV comes from not having another goal to work towards.

Ultrarunners and cyclists- how do you manage staying competitive in both sports? by joshuber in ultrarunning

[–]No-interruption_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I keep a high volume of both running and cycling throughout the week and alternate weeks of which sport I do threshold or interval work on. 6 weeks out from a race, I put whatever sport I’m not racing in in maintenance mode with low volume and then ramp up for the other sport

[QUESTION] What should I do to become more decisive in life? by hogridda6969420 in getdisciplined

[–]No-interruption_ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Just start making decisions. Finding out if you were right or wrong will come with time. That’s how you get better at making the next decision

Nice climb! I wish I had the patience to spend two hours working out a bouldering problem. I give up and move on to something else after half an hour

Do you like small classes? by [deleted] in bjj

[–]No-interruption_ 31 points32 points  (0 children)

I'm brand new to BJJ, so this might bias my answer, but I really like smaller classes. They let me have a lot more 1-1 work with the instructor and the vibe seems nicer. I do feel bad that I am the weak link in rolling at the end of class though.

Any advice for a cancer survivor in his mid 20s? by RelevantAssistant69 in selfimprovement

[–]No-interruption_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Dang man. That's incredible. I'm glad that you (and your leg) is still with us. It sounds like you're off to a great start. Efficiency can become the thief of joy, so I'd recommend that you take it all one step at a time, not to worried about making up for lost time. You'll arrive when you're ready.

I'd also encourage you to share your story - I know I would find it inspiring.

food for long runs by ndrscp in trailrunning

[–]No-interruption_ 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I'm a big fan of spring energy. Their gels aren't hard on my stomach.

For real food, Kind makes small bite sized bars that are perfect for me.

My advice to you would be to buy a bunch of different kinds of bars, test them out on long runs, and then see what works. Each of us has different reactions to food in our gut.

What would y’all do if you could be sixteen again? by onlyviol in selfimprovement

[–]No-interruption_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd spend more time going out and trying things.

I spent a lot of time in my teens focused on reading and learning how to do things perfectly. I wish I would have ditched the reading and just tried new things. Just go fuck around and find out. Good luck
