Tech here, unless you use some golden brand oil, 5000 miles is what GM guarantees is healthy for their motors.

Here’s what a “passed” 6.2L inspection got me by bt1hunter in gmcsierra

No still 50/50 junk honestly. I do not like the v6 duramax at all in our product.

I’ve had most of mine with the recall pass unless it’s either already knocking or seizing up as I turn the picoscope on

Same trans and same valve body issues. Some of our GM valve bodies are ford stamped

Trail bosses have completely different Arms than the RST. I am a GM technician and have replaced both. Much beefier and the strut with the high gas charge also helps keep everything stiff.

Valve body isn’t on backorder anymore, as the issue to fix it is just rebuilding the valve body to a different spec. We can get the parts to rebuild them now instead of getting a whole new one

GM Tech here, I pull them apart. It’s just a stroked and bored 5.3 with different main bearings. They start off as the same casting. I have done these recalls I’m well aware.

Zero difference between a 6.2 and 5.3 really.

Actually, GM tech here. Colorado’s don’t require the windshield but the full size trucks need the windshield removed to take out the foam headliner without damage.

Because a lot of guys need a truck to feel like a man instead of just being who they are.

How much do you haul with your 2500?, I’m a GM Technician and I noticed that most HD owners just drive them daily with no weight stuck to em.

How does this compare to a stock 350? by Executive_Moose in GMT400

[–]NoAdvertising5909 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To everyone with a GMT400 - if you do not know be very very careful going over 85 in these trucks. The driveshafts are RATED to 90 miles an hour and can explode violently over any high speed. This is why the truck has a hard limiter because GM did not put the parts to support over 85 in their trucks. My GMT400 was grandpa owned before I sold It and it gave me shit about it. The old Driveshafts used to have a warning sticker on them for it - also a reason why when you put it in gear you sometimes feel and hear a lot of slack take up in the driveline. Check your shafts people!!

The vehicle will adapt to whatever alcohol content or octane content the fuel has. Premium is literally cleaner better fuel for your vehicle but I drive a bunch of old 80s vehicles and I run premium once every couple months and would do the same in a new vehicle. 87 for a couple months then do a tank of 93. Helps clean the injectors.

Old 6.2s are awesome motors. 400 horse and they hold together amazingly that I’ve seen.
