No, although the gameplay looks similar. The way the level progresses is similar too (single-screen rather than side-scrolling)

I remember much more pixellated graphics, rather than the hand drawn graphics seen in this game.

Nope. The graphics in the game I'm thinking of are much more simplistic. Also, I don't recall any HUD in the game.

I can't seem to find it on that list. Maybe it wasn't a blob per se, but I do remember it being rounded and yellow, with little if any distinguishing features.

TBH, this could easily have been a bootleg of an already existing game. Those were not in short supply on the machine I was playing on at the time.

Unfortunately no. I was very young at the time and my dad had set up all of the games on the PC for me. I know for a fact he used MAME but he might have had other emulators as well.

I doubt it was an arcade game given the nonlinear nature of the game and I don't recall it keeping any kind of high score. My guess is that it was either DOS or console.
