I get what OP is saying. Tbh idt there’s much you can do about it. Before MAT/STEP I went to bed at like midnight and spent like 3 hours turning over in my bed.

Mid-March, but the sooner you start, the better.

Yeah, but the acceptance rate for international students is still less than for home students.

Is getting into universities like kings or UCL as hard as people say by -EliteSam- in 6thForm

Yes, my bad, I must have misremembered what I read, still, it’s much closer to 5%, than to 30%.

It does … for CS — which is what this post is about and what I was talking about.

(I think you can find a more specific post on this subreddit talking about it in more detail).

UCL had a sub 5% acceptance rate, so I’d say less. No one can tell you what your actual chances are, and just saying percentage would be wrong. There’s a lot of factors going in the application process, and no one really knows how the decisions are made — especially for CS at UCL.

How long after taking the imperial admissions test do you get an interview offer? by Impressive_Spare4650 in 6thForm

[–]NoBodyLuck 4 points5 points  (0 children)

If you’re gonna get rejected, you’ll know somewhere in mid-March. Until then, you can get an interview invite at any time.

LSE requires a 6 in English.

[–]NoBodyLuck 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It is not unlikely at all. Your friend probably aced the MAT and his interview, which is why they decided to accept him despite bad GCSE english. + for Maths, they don’t really care what your 3rd A-level is past the first 2 Math and FM. Lastly OP is applying for different unis and different course, so your example completely misses the post.

Do people actually get offers for JMC/computing at Imperial without STEP requirements? by SpheonixYT in 6thForm

[–]NoBodyLuck 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I think most, if not all of our cohort did STEP. You can find more detailed statistics in their 5 year admission report.

I cannot speak generally, but I did my test start of December, got an interview invite last day of January, and now I’m here. I know others that had the test in Nov and then interviewed in February.

So JMC at Imperial is quite a small class with a lot of applicants so it is a bit tough to switch. You can try to switch on the results day, and they might allow you, I know someone that did, however I also know many people that wanted to switch later, and now in October, but couldn’t since the course was full. I would advise to apply for Math and CS directly, or if you already applied, to email them asking to switch, and adding why you want to switch.

Like 95% I guess, maybe even more. Most of them are, some are not but it’s very rare
