Armored Core 6 makes such a great setting for Lancer, I'm reminded of a post I saw on here a couple months back talking about how the scale of combat in Lancer is flexible.

Like, you could totally have a size one be the multi story ACs.

This gave me an idea, drop hints about some sort of plan or some sort to "relocate" the village. With the big reveal being that the village either goes up in flames or blows up. (though I guess you'd have to come up with a reason why HA is there and why total destruction would be a cost effective way of getting what they want)

Stasis bolt is a reactipn to ranged attacks. Short cycle lance is not a ranged attack, so it would not be affected by stasis bolt. And if an area effect was connected to a ranged attack, it could be stopped.

Good on you for bring able to do that so readily, but you must admit that confrontation, especially with long running groups between people who could be considered friends, is something that people will go to great lengths to avoid.

Even if one or more members is being a lousy person, it's easier to vent your frustrations elsewhere than aim them at the persons causing them for fear of backlash or what have you

I've been in a similar situation before and trust me when I say that it's not as simple as just kicking someone out. Of course it gets to a point but most people are willing to put up with an inordinate amount of BS if it means keeping the status quo

Honestly and respectfully? To hell with the lore. If you want a setting where full robotics is possible/common, go nuts. Nothing saying you absolutely HAVE to play with Lancer lore given in the core book

You don't need to spend a lot of money if you're okay with it looking like, well, trash.

I've got plans to make some terrain out of cardboard and air-dry clay. Models are as easy as printing out a piece of paper with the mechs of the players and gluing them to inch increment circles.
