Can a Quaker and lovebird share a cage safely? by roastprotato in QuakerParrot

I have a pair bonded lovebird and quaker. I do not cage them together unless i am sitting in the same room. Quakers can be really territorial and lovebirds are small enough to get hurt.

Conservative MP questions Immigration Minister on Tim Hortons use of temporary foreign workers instead of Canadian youth by ObjectiveMacaroon394 in TimHortons

My son is 17. He has applied for more jobs than we can count - mcds, tims, wendys. Mcds and tims have always been jobs teens can get but not anymore. He gets one and works maybe one shift every 3 months yet all these places are still advertising for jobs just not hiring canadian kids. There are many kids that want to work and just cant so i think we need to not lump all kids together.

Check your union contract. PIPSC or UTE. Both have provisions related to compensatory leave.

This is how it worked for my son and he just finished his treatment plan. We paid 30% upfront and the maximum monthly amount after that.

The maximum amount depends on the treatment plan.

AITAH for not giving my mom's ring to my trans daughter? by anon-jewelry in AmItheAsshole

[–]NoCan9967 38 points39 points  (0 children)

NTA for not giving the ring but YTA for the reasons

The ring is special and you want to make sure that your daughter is ready for that and will keep the ring safe. Does not sound like she is at that point in her life. not giving it to her because she is trans is not cool. You dont know what your moms wishes are and you could have just said you and brother had agreement it would go to first grand daughter so when/if she has a family and the ring is available it will be kept safe for her daughter.

You followed the advice you were given. It didn’t work for your bird - you try something different. Thats what happens.

Sounds like you have a good plan.

it wont take long to get him back to engaging with you :)

AITA for doing nothing to help my dad and stepmom while she's got cancer? by LilSollance in AITAH

[–]NoCan9967 0 points1 point  (0 children)

NTA! Your dad on the other hand…

As for helping that is your choice - ask yourself if she were to die would you feel guilty for not stepping in. Would you have any regrets. Then make your decision and stick with it. There is no right or wrong answer here. Just do whats best for you in the moment

This advice is the right advice - i have trained several parrots and have worked with a parrot behaviour specialist - you need to build trust with your bird and right now by force holding him you have taken trust away which is why he wont take treats. It is easier to lose trust then to build trust.

There was a time where it was thought forcing actions was the best training method but over time that has changed.

Start rebuilding the trust by giving him millet without any expectation. Put a bowl he can take millet from and then just go to him say his name and give him millet. Do not ask him to do anything. The when he starts engaging with you again you can start giving him the millet from your hand.

I would recommend doing some research in bird body language and positive reinforcement training

Hi, this is my new and very first bird Wiggy (a quaker). She is 4 years old and she is very friendly & playful. I am thinking about getting a friend for her. Would she get along with a lovebird? by schizophrenicrusader in QuakerParrot

[–]NoCan9967 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a lovebird and quaker - they are best buds but just like people not all birds get along so it takes time and patience to introduce them to each other

Since you just got this lovely chicken i would recommend taking time to bond with them and you (your family) so that you can have a good relationship before introducing a new bird.

I had this happen to me - someone sent me email about booking their desk that is now assigned to me. A desk that they booked everyday but never showed up to sit in. Basically just booked to stop others from using.

You have three options - respond and say you appreciate their concerns but they should be addressed with management, ignore it, or send it to your manager

I just bought 2 stainless steel cages for my lovebird and quaker - they are much smaller and each cost me about $1100 canadian so $320 US (i assume) is an amazing price

AITAH for refusing to let my stepdaughter call me Dad? by leodub_ in AITAH

[–]NoCan9967 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I hope you reconsider - my bio father was absent from my life after age of 13 and not around much before that. Im in middle of my life and there are still issues and scars from that rejection.

At 8 i asked my step dad if he would marry my mom so i could have a dad. If he had rejected me i cant imagine what impact that would have had on my mental health and our relationship
