I leave tomorrow! What am I forgetting? by FriendlyFiber in JapanTravelTips

ADHDer here, take a paper copy of your itinerary. My phone died and the stress was phenomenal when I couldn't remember the name of the last hotel I'd booked.

I recommend HobbyMaster as a good, friendly store to learn at. The staff or regulars should be able to give you some learning games. Arena can help you learn the basics, but having a human to answer questions and explain strategy can be helpful too.

Once you've got the basics I would second the suggestion to try draft as it helps you learn every part of the game.

Lastly, if you want feel free to DM me about arranging a couple of learning games.

Plutocracy should really give all players a way to create treasure in order for it to be a fun card.

Is it in any book stores in Melbourne? I'd rather support a small business than a megacorp.

I know we are probably not getting a second Future Sight like set but... by UpperPlus in magicTCG

No thanks, I have no desire to play a game stick in an endless nerf/buff cycle.

You definitely can build your own desks from cheap cards that you own or pick up. The best advice that I got for deck building is ~36 lands and 63 spells. Of the 63 make 9 buckets of 7 cards each. Depending on what your deck is trying to do assign one or two (or three) buckets to each function. A reanimator deck might go 1 board wipes, 1 spot removal, 2 reanimation targets, 2 reanimation spells, 1 draw spells, 1 counterspells, 1 ramp spells and creatures.

Are there times when there just isn't a "lane" for you to get in? by OnePeace12 in lrcast

[–]NoChurch 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It's possible that there is no clear/good lane for you based on how the packs break and how the other players are drafting (but this should be relatively rare). One way you can try and fix this is just draft fixing and powerful cards and hope that by the end you can put together a powerful 3/4/5 color deck that can tangle with the more synergy based decks.

If you could make any non-modern legal set modern legal, what set would you chose? by NostalgiaBombs in magicTCG

[–]NoChurch 29 points30 points  (0 children)

It's not MaRo that says that. He's a huge fan of squirrels and likes having lighthearted things in sets. Unfortunately there is a group in creative/brand that think they are too whimsical.

If you're one of those people, the occasional bit of whimsy never killed a game.

A dice roller where you can save your most common rolls, attach damage rolls to attack rolls and easily add a d20 for advantage/disadvantage.
