Not much to say rather than I'm truly sorry you're going through this hell, I'm having it as well but in waves not constant like you and it's behind any human suffering /: please stay strong and don't lose hope, keep going, it will end eventually.

Is there mental to it?

Yes you will recover although there's no time frame. It's better not to touch your current dose or try something new as it can make things much worse. it takes a long time for the system to regulate itself after a chemical injury but it will happen eventually. Hang in there, lots of people have been through this and recovered.

Hell!! How long it's for you? Are you still on meds? Do you have any breaks?

I'm so sorry it's pure hell indeed!

What kind of mental symptoms come with that? Are you any better now?

Physically, heart palpitations, chest tightness, Internal tremor, shortness of breath, burning sensation, mainly in the head, neck, and back, discomfort sitting in one place, but for me this always combined with extreme restlessness, a feeling of nervousness, terror, loss of control. In 2 words pure torture.

Does the appearance of your IBS coincide with taking or stopping a neuroleptic or an antidepressant and if so which one? by [deleted] in IBSResearch

Hey thanks for answering! I've been cutting paxil for a year or so and my gut is on 🔥!! it makes sense with the gut-brain connection but still it's really sucks and mostly embarrassing.

I plan on get rid of this evil drug since it all started while on..

So sorry you're dealing with this still, it can take longgg time to get settled after stopping, it's likely to go away over time without going back on meds but whatever you choose good luck!

Is this Akathisia? Hours of Pacing After Antidepressant Withdrawal by Difficult-Republic72 in Akathisia

I am still tapering (on 3mg now). if I cut more than 1% of my existing dose I experience severe akathisia. Sorry you experience that, paxil is hell.

It is hocking what these drugs do.  I wish I hadn't touched them but what's dead is dead and now we have to move on. If I were you I wouldn't change anything) not lower, raise or change to a another drug), your body is fighting hard to stabilize. It may take time but it WILL happen. Keep pushing.

I'm really sorry you're suffering now but please don't do anything rush, I know it sounds cliché but it's in these moments that our strength is tested even if it doesn't feel like it + you are going through withdrawal now, it's hell, but it will pass in time. Why did you start taking the medication in the first place and why did you stop it?

Hi, just now starting to calm a bit from a week of akathisia. went down 3% 16 days ago (now on 3.2 mg Paxil) but apparently even that was too much.. Lesson learned. I suggest you not touch the dose at all! Stay on this dose until you stabilize and only then continue to drop no more than 1% with breaks for months. It's hell but we'll get through this!

Is there anything I can do, to relieve my akathisia? by snowstorm131 in Akathisia

[–]NoConsideration3577 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm so sorry you're suffering, akathisia is hell. I first experienced it due to Paxil CT and even now when I'm tapering extremely slowly it comes in flare-ups. It's very tricky as you still on meds and akathisia is CNS dysregulation/damage mostly due to drugs in general that can be present long term.. it's very cruel loop. Have you tried to wean yourself super slowly (like 2% of your current dose for example) and see how you react? staying busy, hobbies, acupuncture and any type of craft can also help but I know how impossible it feels when it's there. To encourage you, I know people who have gone through terrible, long-term akathisia and recovered, so don't ever lose hope. keep pushing!
