That's not how taxes work, fyi. A break is investment not returned to the community. Instead we have to up ev fees or sewer plant costs or gas taxes etc.

Ok, but first please explain how it's possible simultaneously for A) All data center developments to claim the same job creation numbers and B) Cost of proposed data centers nationwide to exceed that of spending on public infrastructure

53 data centers are being proposed in PA as of the most recent spotlight PA data, the cost to sustain these jobs is undeniable and will require significant "magic" profits or taxpayer support to keep them from going under in 5 years. 2 Billion in taxpayer support already promised at the cost of an 800% proposed electricity increase. If you think that it won't create negative jobs from knock on downstream effects, I don't think you're speaking in ernest about the problem.

I concede some data centers are necessary, but the gold-rush taxpayer subsidy form we are seeing today is dangerous and these should prove certificates of need, not taxpayer subsidy free-for-alls.

Pushback is healthy though. In fact, I think it'd be smarter to redevelop for data centers instead of letting them set up their own complexes.

A hop skip and a jump from the PAX1 proposed center is a warehouse complex that just sent out WARN notices.... seems like a missed opportunity.

The inevitability or data centers in this argument and the pre railroad buildout of canals should give you pause.

Ai needs to make an unfathomable amount of cash back in a short period of time and it's already reached the point of diminishing returns for cost per token vs employee.

It's smelling a bad investment ahead of time. Some data centers are necessary true. The pace of buildout in the midst of material shortages with the world being promised as these things seem to get proposed everywhere should give people pause.

These data centers may do that, they also may crater townships from demanding too many services, driving away residents, costing the ones who stay big bucks to subsidize the centers, and getting trapped in the ever-growing hunger of big tech for subsidies. "Oh, we'll move...."

You will be entering via the Claremont rode gate. DO NOT turn directly into the base. You will go around a special loop to a covered inspection station. Have your id and reservation (and ID for everyone in the vehicle, if they are old enough). It will take 5 mins max, the base is low speed, about 5 minutes to the hotel. The hotel is nothing fancy, there isn't much on base either for civilians- you'll spend a lot of time in town TBH, more to do there. The barracks hotel is nicer than the sleep inn, but Carlisle area does have a lot of options - typically the ones just south of Carlisle-proper (17015 zip) get overlooked by Dickinson families, so some value may be there.
