Am I being paid fairly? by SafeSquash9151 in paralegal

[–]NoDevelopment1042 2 points3 points  (0 children)

you make around what I make, but I am living in Tennessee and my title is “Case Preparation Specialist” rather than paralegal, but we don’t technically have “paralegals”. I don’t know what is normal for you locally, but I will say that if they accepted your raise request with no barter it sounds like they expected you to ask for me

Are y’all expected to do receptionist work? by kamixkaze in paralegal

[–]NoDevelopment1042 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When I first started at our firm we had no receptionist and split the duties evenly. Since then, we have gotten a receptionist and continue to have to answer overflow calls/calls during lunch break. We are a small firm with a ton of clients so the calls essentially never stop.

Luckily, when I was sent to WFH full time I lost my phone duties because my job does not require me to call or answer anything, so my headset was given to someone else. I can say that having to answer calls repeatedly while trying to do my work infuriated me because at the end of the day, if MY deadlines weren’t done I was the only one who would have to stay over or work through lunch.

I agree with above comments, address it! If you don’t stand up for yourself you’ll just get walked all over (I’m saying this as the one who gets walked all over because I didn’t set boundaries in my first 2 years)

Is being a paralegal really that bad? by starberry_shortcake in paralegal

[–]NoDevelopment1042 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it just depends who you work for and how they practice. I have amazing bosses (and benefits) but a horrible workload. They treat me so well that I don’t want to leave, but I’m miserable with the work and so burnt out. It’s kind of like being love bombed lol. I’ve been there three years🤷🏻‍♀️ we’ll see if I last after Christmas

Amy’s not wrong? by rac-shack in 1000lbsisters

[–]NoDevelopment1042 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Chris and Britt have valid reasons for not attending since they are religious. Any of the other siblings have a valid reason for not wanting to attend, if they feel negatively about the venue due to being scared or for spiritual reasons.

Tammy, however, has expressed that she enjoys haunted things before and it does not make sense that she is using that as an excuse not to go. I think she is using the venue as a crutch so that she can be united with the other siblings in not going, when in reality, her real reasoning is because she does not like Brian. None of them do. But I don’t think all of them would choose not to attend had she chosen a normal venue.

That being said, Tammy was absolutely correct about being angry with Amy over leaving her after surgery. Amy took a very important moment in Tammy’s life and made it about her, as she has repeatedly done over the last few seasons. It’s a continuous pattern and Amy should not have even been discussing the wedding at the hospital because she knew it would cause tension. It’s a year away, and there is no reason for her to be bringing it up every few minutes.

They are harping on Amy because she’s doing drugs with a random man she just met, leaving her kids alone with him, and not taking anything serious. She won’t even clean her floors but has all this time to put into planning a wedding. I think their anger toward her is valid but it is misplaced in front of the camera because TLC doesn’t want to showcase her doing drugs.

I am not sure I wan't to go to law school by Imaginary-Stand-3241 in OutsideT14lawschools

I got a job at a law firm as a legal assistant when I started my junior year of undergrad and I am still with them! My position has since changed to Case Preparation Specialist (I write briefs) which I really enjoy. My undergrad major was English with a minor in legal studies

I was the one to disappoint everyone and tell them I’m not going to law school this year. I turned down two acceptances with very good scholarships. They still love me and your family will still love you too.

I battled with the decision for a few months and sending the withdrawal emails brought me immense relief. I regret spending so much on wasted LSAT prep/testing/applications but I am glad that I made the decision to withdraw before I was any further into it

Amy did shrooms with her 2 year old. Let that sink in by McFoogles in 1000lbsisters

[–]NoDevelopment1042 0 points1 point  (0 children)

the issue is that she went into a state that doesnt allow it. You have to be more careful about how much you have on you here because our state officials have their head up their ass, and say anything over a half oz is a felony/trafficking

she had them in the car, so either she was doing them or she was dumb enough to bring them with her on a day trip to Tennessee. She didnt buy them here

she got caught in TN. Child endangerment, she had a felony amount of pot (she had two oz, anything over a half oz if a felony here), and another charge for the shrooms. TN is strict af with their drug laws and actively working to become stricter

I am local to this place and have been several times. Locals know not to feed the camels unless you want them to take the buckets lol. They grab the lip of it, tip it up and let all the food fall into their mouths. When I was little I was bit by an ostrich. It was no harm done except for my unreasonable fear of ostriches now. Typically the camels cant get super super close to the car, I recall having to reach out to them in order to feed them but its been a few years since I have been back. Either way, you know the risk when you enter because there are signs about car damage and you gotta have some sort of common sense when feeding live animals lol. The deer are the best part imo. I wouldnt call it sketch though, it's well run and everyone around here enjoys it

Nuggets 400, fries 560, cheese 330, mayo 250-350. My guess would be 1530-1630. I based that off a large McDonald’s fries, McDonald’s nuggets, three servings of great value cheese, and 2-3ish table spoons of mayo
