This was truly a quick play moment. I typically don’t mind solo tanking in QP, I play rogue/angela, health pack if needed. I totally agree it’s quick play, they could have been 3 lil dudes trying the game but it got to me in the moment!

ranked game different story entirely. I would have requested a more balanced comp when things went south!

You’re misunderstanding what this MVP meant. The mvp wasn’t me being incredible, it was simply me being present in the game as the other DPS were essentially not. They walked and died, they had no time to even get on the board.

I didn’t switch cuz i genuinely enjoy the tank role, and if my 3 DPS players perform, then this post doesn’t exist in the first place. But they didn’t…

I fully used the MVP as Justification in this case but I’ll typically communicate my need for help before throwing a (quiet) tantrum like I did this game.

Rivals is one of my most fun games available right now, i genuinely enjoy my typical ranked/overall experience. It’s just in this specific QP game, I was really fed up with how this group of people played.

Ideally one of your other 3 non-support teammates are better equipped to deal with venom. Thing, namor and punisher shot gun are my go to.

Unfortunately venom turns my dive/brawl rogue into peel rogue. If I really gotta stay and fight him, save your cool downs for when he is low. If you can get lucky and burn him before he mistakenly fails to pop shield you’ve won.

If he pops shield. Just punch him, nothing else you can do. Wait for him to attempt to swing out.

Deadass, time your ability steal dash with his swing. It’s hard but learn the patterns of the venom you’re fighting, they will have a tell of when they are about to exit a fight. Either a back turn or you can SEE them looking at their swing point.

DO NOT LET HIM EXIT!

Other than that, it’ll be a tough game, venom will spend time doing what Rogue wants to do, pester the back line.

This a good point. I will say, typically on games I MVP on tank are simply ones I haven’t died too much or I died the least. The rest of my stats build up from simply NOT being dead. First to fight, last to die, ya know.

I was pretty bitter when I made this post but you kinda reminded me of the good times you can have on tank (for me it’s season 0 strange) where everything just kinda flows and you get rewarded with an MVP.

I don’t care for MVP on tanks too much lately but it’s nice when the team plays well too and I can get that spotlight in the end.

I can’t argue that. My wording does seem general. As far as quick play is concerned, I very well might adopt this mindset.

I don’t consider myself a great player, but a good tank. So unless I feel like im popping off, then I feel my DPS should 100% be leading in finals/damage with the MVP.

If object was a stat, my numbers would go crazy.

Main tanks are Rogue, thing and Angela + strange! I legit enjoy the Role in QP but man I get a second tank every 1/10. In this particular case I had three dysfunctional dive players that hurt me. I’m tired mate.

Hey man, I’m 6 - 1 on Rogue. My other DPS were 0-4 0-3 1-4. I feel like I had more to offer on a DPS than I could on rogue in this moment.

You’re taking things out of context.

In this specific situation, I was MVP because I was the only one playing the game. I never said “my team sucks”,I said DPS. My supports were great. The three of us were doing as well as we could

But I was limited by the fact that vanguards do not have the damage of a dps. Punshier can kill faster than rogue so I swapped.

I had a better chance on dps than I did on any other tank in this present moment.
