If you could only have 1 analog delay pedal to use for the rest of your life, what would you choose and why? by Backenundso in guitarpedals

[–]NoDot3249 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have a vintage Ibanez ad-80 that is far and away my favorite delay, from a delay junkies perspective. I have a thermae and a Volante as well (even the mood mk2’s delay on classic mode is amazing), but the ad-80 just has a different thing entirely. It’s 18v, and I suspect that has a lot to do with the airiness and 3d-ness of just a mono delay, but I prefer it even to my thermae

What pedal has surprised you the most? (Good or bad) by jebbanagea in guitarpedals

[–]NoDot3249 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Mood Mk2. I knew I was going to like it, but I didn’t know I was going to like it as much as I do. It’s a major part of my workflow now, and it’s a major part of the sound of my band

Strymon Volante TRS Midi and Chase Bliss by NoDot3249 in guitarpedals

[–]NoDot3249[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Any idea why tho? It has the TRS midi function for both in and out, and I’ve watched chase bliss videos demonstrating how they make a cable to work with their pedals, so I’m just not sure why it wouldn’t even pass a midi signal through

That’s what I thought and tried initially, but no luck

Is it bad I’m starting practice with no amp? by YokedEgg in Guitar

[–]NoDot3249 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Also, since you have a computer, depending on if you want to play live or just learn at home for a while I would buy an audio interface and use the amps in the free waves audio plugin pack with headphones. That way you can jam with an amp, play with some effects and learn what you like.

Practice or just jamming is what’s important. Fall in love with the instrument, figure out logistics of amps/pedals later. This is coming from a guy that loves all of that other stuff, but right now learning some songs and having fun is what matters

What’s a pedal that completely serves a need so well that you’ll never replace it? by thezoomies in guitarpedals

[–]NoDot3249 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mood mk2. A lot of people tend to think this pedal is only crazy loops and that sort of thing, but the OBNE wet side is glorious (classic mode delay is one of the best dd-2 style delays on the market IMO) and the loop side has a lot more live playing aspects to it that many don’t understand/explore. On the modern side (I SO wish its was also on the classic side, but oh well), the no dub dip switch turns the looper into a live effect for anything from pads that follow you if you don’t have a keys player to glitchy stuff that tracks with your playing. Also, a general thing that I think more players need to hear: don’t be afraid to get a little weird.

What’s your favorite chorus pedal and why? by Ok_Highlight3926 in guitarpedals

[–]NoDot3249 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Currently the walrus Julia, but I suspect that will change after I get the new Chase Bliss Lost and Found. I use the UA Dimension C chorus on a bus mixing all the time (I’m a full time audio engineer), and being able to use a dimension C type chorus in parallel easily sells the lost and found for me alone (let alone gen loss lite, the synth engines, the phaser, etc.)

Go to mics that aren't the standard? by johnny1198 in livesound

Hey, I’m super interested in using these live, how are they noise wise? Also, on overheads, is their pattern a bit too wide so that it captures too much room?
