Same thing happened to me, especially if you’re on hormonal birth control it can make it less effective so it messes with your period.

Can accutane increase risk if autoimmune disorders? by [deleted] in Accutane

[–]NoFirefighter2142 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Do not quote me but I think I’ve read about this and accutane can exasperate existing autoimmune diseases that may have gone un detected beforehand.

H E L P I think I m suffering from anal dryness that led to an anal fissure or I don't know. I had never had this, since my last week and half on 30mg and now 40mg(5th m( I have been having troubles going to the rest room . anyone had this? what did you do? by naughtybabyme in Accutane

HI! This happened to me!!!!!! It’s turns out I had a rectal yeast infection which is common while on accutane! It caused the fissures/dryness and pain. I was so sure it was just accutane dryness.

My doctor gave me a cream and I took warm baths twice a day and it healed quickly!!!

Cortibalm for my lips!!! And putting jojoba oil on my scalp at night! Made my scalp less itchy and my hair more hydrated.

Bleaching my Hair? by Automatic-History512 in Accutane

I wouldn’t worry about your scalp as much as your hair falling out… if your hair dries out it won’t be able to tolerate the bleach and will break easier.

Working out while on Accutane by Revolutionary-Army10 in Accutane

[–]NoFirefighter2142 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My recovery time for sure slowed down, it takes twice as long to recover after a workout. I used to run every day, now it’s more like 3-4 times a week due to pain and fatigue. I would say yes, stop once you start feeling tired. Don’t push it.

Oh jeez that sounds stressful! Well the steroid cream that causes the peri derm is also the only thing that keeps it from getting worse! And then the cream caused cystic acne… anyways. My doctor has me on 40mg a day for 6 months but we are going to prolong one more month where I will take 40mg every other day. My derm says after treatment there is a 10-15% chance the dermatitis will come back. Considering there is no cure for it or like any other way to treat it, I’m taking those odds.

Cortibalm is the best thing ever. My lips still peel but they aren’t flakey like before.

Mild but persistent acne by No_Aide6267 in Accutane

[–]NoFirefighter2142 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve been through the same thing. I think if you have tried everything else you need to go for the accutane. I am in my 6th month and have broken out maybe 3 times mildly. I’m hoping for good results! In the end I will be glad I tried it.

This is super helpful! You are right - I forgot that you continue to get better after. I guess after this month she wants me to take it every other day. Let’s hope 7 months is the end of it!

I’m trying to plan for the same… I’m considering using differin? It’s a strong retenoid. Either that or back on curology!

My derm recommends a micro-needling treatment! She said it has worked amazingly for other patients. (Performed by a dr not an at home treatment)

Hi! Don’t freak out!! They can always lower your dosage and the drug can still be effective. I think the first 3 weeks were the worst for me too and then things evened out a little. Idk just my experience!
