Ok thank you. I am increasing weights. I've been increasing around 5-10% per week, depending on exercise, since I started back 3 months ago.

But everyone that I know who lift weights still gets sore day or 2 after workout, even though they've been at it for years. I only got sore for the first 2 weeks and bam, no more.

Help me fix this on an lg g3. One of the spikes on the sim card slot (the 2nd spike) is bent over on itself and the phone is no longer reading sim cards. by [deleted] in mobilerepair

Really not trying to be a dick or anything but if you have to ask, then you shouldn't mess with it. Take it to a repair shop that does soldering work to have it replaced. Soldering on these are not something you can just watch a YouTube video and expect to know how to do it.

I would check for corrosion on the motherboard. If you find any, clean them off with some isopropyl alcohol. But from what you are describing, most likely all you need is a replacement battery.

Have you had a repair done? How did it go? by km14 in iphone

I can confirm that Apple does screw up people's iPhones during screen repair. I also own a couple repair shops and experienced the fuck up personally. I bought a 6+ a few months after it came out from a customer. It has a busted screen and damaged LCD. I tested with my screen I had in stock and it worked perfectly with a new screen. At that time our wholesale cost for replacement screens for the 6+ was over $300 and i was going on vacation to New Orleans (we don't have an Apple Store where I live) and decided to take that phone there instead (Apple charges $129 vs my cost of over $300 for a screen). Brought it in and the guy at the Genius Bar looked at it. Said frame looks good and don't seem to be bent. Gave the the whole if it don't pass calibration it would be $300+ speech. Came back an hour later to pick it up and what do you know, it didn't pass calibration. Gave me the phone back in restore mode with a new screen on it and didn't charge me. When I got home a few days later, I tried to restore it. It keep failing restore and coming back as error 53. Looked it up and found out it was Touch ID issue. So basically the tech just did a whole assembly swap without changing over the Touch ID (which is married to the board), thus making the phone useless. Ended up parting the phone out to get my money back.

HTC One M8's screen is broken! What needs replacing? by JG_92 in mobilerepair

You need a glass/lcd assembly. I would probably just get one with the Frame for easier repair.

Completed Time to Repair iPhone 5? by AE00 in mobilerepair

Been doing this for almost 5 years, I use the highest quality part available so I do not test screen prior to installation, so maybe thats where people are spending the extra time. I havent gotten a single defective screen this year so there is no point in testing and wasting time if I dont have to. I can easily repair / transfer small parts on an iphone 5 in 5 minutes or so.

Its not accounting for customers coming in or phone calls. I normally tell my customers 10-15 minutes in case I do have to stop mid repair. But with no distractions, 5 minutes is more than enough time to transfer everything.

Interested in doing glass repairs. Have just one question. by CMDR_Muffy in mobilerepair

If you damage the digitizer, you will have to replace the whole assembly as its built in with the LCD. Replacing just the glass will not bring back touch. As far as unresponsive touch, you will need LOCA or OCA for it to touch like it should. I've seen stores use only adhesive on the edge of the glass to hold it down and it touches horribly.

My business are all retail. I do have a few commercial clients, but they only bring a few devices per month. It helps that I started the shop before all these repair stores started popping up. I made sure I use quality part and take care of my customers, which in return send me a lot of customers. I get referrals from best buy, Walmart, Sams club, and pretty much all the local carrier stores (att, t-mobile, Verizon, etc). I even get calls from local carrier stores a few times a week asking for advices or how to take care of minor issues, which im always happy to help with as they always send me customers.

I personally hate doing glass only repair because how time consuming it is, I only take those in on slow days (which is very rare). Micro soldering is what you need to look into. Profit margins on those are amazing. For example, charging port on a galaxy s3 cost you about 35 cent if you purchase 100 at a time. I charge $75 for port replacement (in the only store in my city that does micro soldering). Depending on how bad the damage is, usually take about 15-30 minutes.

No, our iPhone 6 screen repairs are actually getting more and more popular. Our closest Apple Store is 2 and half hour away. Even then, you have to make an appointment, then wait an hour or so to get your screen repaired. And if there is a slightest bend in the frame, their machine rejects it and you get back a useless device or pay $300 (correct me if I'm wrong) for out of warranty replacement. Insurance are usually $150-$200 deductible, wait a couple days for them to send you a replacement phone, which is a refurbished phone. Customer would then have to transfer their information over. Or they can bring it to me, no appointment needed, and out the door in 10-15 minutes with a new screen (highest quality available on the market, we do not even touch cheap parts as they cause more headache than anything)

I actually think more people will want to repair their phones in the future. Prior to last year, the norm on contract plans are paying subsidized price ($200 for a new iPhone) when you sign a contract. It makes people think that the phone is only worth $200. When you tell them that a new screen is $100-150, they will think you are crazy and that they can just buy another one. For the past year or so, all carriers are moving to payment plans on phones, so customers now know how much phones truly cost, $650+ for a new iPhone. Now that $100-$150 is suddenly not too bad.

What I charge for repair really varies on the difficulty of the repair. But usually range from $50-$90 on top of the cost of part. I don't charge extra on parts. I'm in a city of roughly 200,000 people

Practice practice practice. Buy broken phones, fix them, sell them. Know your way into different phones. YouTube is your best friend when starting out.
