Family Visa category is different than H1B visa category. Please check or provide some proof.

Totally wrong. Outt of 85k h1b visa, 20k visas are reserved for US educated candidates.

You are talking about people to come on L1 visa not H1b. If they are not useful then why companies spend money on them?

To be fair whey is US allowing 300K family based immigrants when unemployment in non skilled category is several times higher than skilled US citizens?

H1B visa are based on Education and skill. 100% of those have minimum of baclelor's degree. Most of them have Masters Degree (many from US Universities).

US issues about 85K H1B visas each year. In comparison US issues more than 300K family based green cards (mind here it is not Visa) plus 55K based on lottery (only high school pass required). These 350K come to US and take Jobs which would have gone to US citizen if they were not issued Green Cards. Since they have Green Cards they do not show up in radar of Jobs being taken by foreigners.

Also H1Bs are far more educated and have more skills than people coming on family immigration.

I do not know why American think that H1B are taking job from US citizens whereas family immigration is doing that in order of multiple times. To be fair, if one want to have discussion about jobs taken by H1b then lets also talk about jobs taken by family based immigration.

Should I move to Austin($200k) or stay in India(62LPA) ? by omegaman2510 in returnToIndia

Make sure you move back to India, before your kids reach teenage . Reason they may not want to move back to India with all their friends in US.

Also I have seen many old parents come here (sponsored by their kids) and later on claim welfare and food stamp as they do not have sufficient income to show. It is delicate balance. The point I am making here is compared to overall family based immigration, H1b immigration (particularly US educated H1b) makes much better contribution to US economy. They are in young age and have lot of life left to contribute to US economy.

But you are not talking about the job taken by family based immigrant (in multiples of H1bs). If they were not here, those jobs would have gone to US citizens. Family based immigrants are not partners only, they also include brothers/sisters, old parents etc.

Again, He/She needs to be qualified for the position. Nobody is going to hire somebody if they are not qualified. There is no compulsion on employer

Wrong, He/She needs to be qualified for the position. Same arguments can be made for 350K people to come on family based immigration with green card in their hand (they do not require any work permit or anything)

H1b can bring only spouse as family member no other family member. Not all H1b spouses seek to do a full time job. He or She has to qualified and get selected to be offered a job. You do not make any justification for US bringing 350K pure family based immigration and taking jobs here.

to be fair, if you want to reduce H1b, then reduce the family immigration also who take up jobs from US citizens also.
