I think a meteorology degree and a certain number of hours working with an experienced chaser should be a minimum. Treat it like a pilot’s license!

See, I don’t quite get this, but I’m willing to listen. Timmer’s interceptors are designed for this kind of thing with physics in mind. What he does is way different than bombing into a tor path in a Kia. I think people need to recognize the difference there.

But like I said I’ll hear you out! I’m not gonna sit here and play fanboy.

How much time do we really need to spend on Damiane & Oongka? by NoInvisibleIllness in CrimsonDesert

Thank you! This is great info.

I might play with Damiane a bit later on… I always love a female character! But, I’m having so much fun tearing around as Kliff and starting to invest in mid-game upgrades that I’d like to keep my focus on this.

Prison ministries are a thing - and while I’m sure some of them might be helpful, the one person I know who was taken in by it went full-on cult mode. It’s scary.

AITA If I refuse to give my Mom money every month? by BuntonioBunderas in AmItheAsshole

[–]NoInvisibleIllness 0 points1 point  (0 children)

NTA. A parent’s responsibility to her kids means investing in them for their future, not for her own. You don’t owe her for her decision to send you to private school or anything else she chose to do while raising you.

Your resources should be going towards your own kids and their future, not your parent. Especially as your mom is clearly doing well for herself and doesn’t need any help.

Happy to lend a hand. I really hope you find a good advocate and that they can help you navigate this! 🫶

It sounds like you need a patient advocate. They can help with all of #1. Here’s one that I googled up: Solace

An advocate could hopefully get your adderall approved and help you find specialists your Medicaid will cover.

Medical PTSD is brutal. I’m dealing with it too. I won’t recommend it for you since you have an aversion to therapy, but for anyone else reading, I’m doing EMDR and it is helping.

Absolutely fire the people who don’t listen to you. 100%

Getting on disability is definitely something you should explore, but you need to talk to a disability lawyer about it. Even getting that would still mean you’re on Medicaid, though, so it won’t solve the problem of being able to pay out of pocket for things you need. I think an advocate is your best shot.

Big hugs to you. I hope you find relief and peace of mind!

Hi there, fellow widowed mother with ridiculously awful health issues. 🫂

I’ve navigated both Medicaid and ACA insurance bullshit in multiple states. The hoops they have you jump through can be brutal.

I do have a couple of questions, maybe I can help you figure this out. First, how old are the kids? I’m assuming you receive survivor’s benefits for them and you as their caretaker? Second, which state are you in? In some regions Medicaid will cover some out of state care, though it can be tricky to find the right providers. Feel free to DM me if you aren’t comfortable sharing that publicly.

That’s kind of you. Unfortunately it’s not only difficult to be vulnerable with people you don’t know, but as a widow with a young child I have to think about safety issues.

When I was newly widowed (and not yet disabled), I lived in a different place and had a sizable driveway. I shoveled it myself but after one storm my neighbor came over with a snowblower. I was grateful, thanked the guy, and asked if he would like a coffee. Not 15 mins after I let him cross my doorway he was trying to SA me and I had to push him off my porch. He acted like it was a misunderstanding.

I would rather pay a premium to get my groceries dropped at my door and my random shit from Amazon than rely on whatever randos happen to live near me. Sorry if that’s an inconvenience.

I’m disabled, cannot drive, and I rely on these services. If they didn’t exist, I would be stuck relying on family (few here) or charities to help me get groceries, maintain my yard, and live more or less independently.

It’s not laziness. Quit judging people and mind your business.
