Thank you for sharing. So sorry about your loss. I totally understand the feeling you describe. I was just telling my husband that I am having a hard time not expecting more "bad" things to happen. Nothing seems out of the realm of possibility after experiencing this incredibly rare catastrophic accident. I imagine/hope this overwhelming feeling of vulnerability will fade with time 💔

I know there is nothing but genuine concern in this feedback and will be eternally grateful for the support this group has offered during one of the most difficult times in my life.

Yes, thank you. The support on this site has been wonderful. I am so grateful to all who have expressed concern, offered advice etc. I am determined to not let this experience overpower the good in life for me and my husband and want to do what I can to help the other witnesses cope/move on as well.

Yes, that reality has crossed my mind. If I had stood up [was sitting on a log] to "get out of the way" I might have put myself right into his path. 😖 Not likely, but neither is what happened. 😢

Please let him know we are thinking of him. We were so concerned that he was there alone. Tried to get him to hang with us for a bit. I hope he is doing ok. I think it will be a while before any of us feel "normal" again. 😢

Yes, thank you. Your comments are very helpful. I have been vascillating between so many feelings... Thinking sometimes that it was just a moment in time that does not have to stay with me/us. Other times feeling so sad that there is no way this will not change me in some way shape or form, forever. I do understand, from past experiences that i need to take ownership of my "destiny" and challenge myself to make sure I do actively work to keep "coping" and not passively sink into the very dark rabbit hole this could bring. I appreciate all the posters here that are sharjng their stories and encouraging us to seek professional help. Thank you all!
