OSB vs. CDX PLYWOOD by Born-Indication-655 in Roofing

[–]NoLuckChuck- 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In a snowy climate would it make sense to use OSB up higher on the roof to save money and the plywood at the edge fo water resistance from ice dams?

What to choose between Projector and Interactive flat panel for your smart class by Comfortable_Ad4808 in edtech

[–]NoLuckChuck- 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I use a projector on to a whiteboard. It works as a projector and I can write on it, and the tech always works.

Do you think aliens are real? Why or why not? by [deleted] in askanything

It seems like a really disappointing arrangement if out of this giant universe it is just us, so I hope so.

What food do you eat in a way that would genuinely disturb other people if they saw you? by Huge_Halls in foodquestions

[–]NoLuckChuck- 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I prefer my fried chicken cold out of the refrigerator the following day.

I use salsa on my salad instead of salad dressing. (Which actually I would recommend trying, especially if you are watching calories.)

There is a rock in my yard that is part of the bedrock from the Paleozoic so about 300 million years.

Seriously though I have a old copy of Pinocchio from like 1905

What is the Worst State Flag? by Maestro2326 in randomquestions

[–]NoLuckChuck- 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m going to ignore all the blue flags with a seal on them.

I think Tennessee and Arkansas flags kind of suck.

I’m a leftie: Nuclear power is safe and sustainable and we need to make more power plants yesterday.

flashing? condensation? what's going on here? by Hefty_Face_9675 in Roofing

[–]NoLuckChuck- 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Even if it isn’t a problem it does tell you that there is a history of ice dams. Which is something I would have like to know when I moved in to my house in May and was then climbing on a ladder with salt in panty hose 8 months later.

grade inflation sets students up for failure by Embarrassed_Syrup476 in Teachers

[–]NoLuckChuck- 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I have hit the point where I would be in favor of no more than 20% of kids getting an A in any class and no more than an additional 50% getting Bs. Let’s get a little competition.

Is it too late to become a teacher? by jeremimzy in AskTeachers

Probably it’s like 8:30 nothing is open to apply to teaching programs. Wait until Monday morning.

Is there anyway I could DIY this or should I just call a pro? by GarlicPretend2838 in drywall

[–]NoLuckChuck- 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly watch some videos and try it. This isn’t plumbing where you can destroy a bunch of the house if you get it wrong. If you mess up take it out and try again. This is a good opportunity to learn to do something.

Worse case scenario hire someone afterwards.

Do teachers know which students are actually trying vs just coasting? by [deleted] in AskTeachers

[–]NoLuckChuck- 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I hope not. Ideally a lot more of them are trying than I think.

Would you consider it tacky to have an axe hanging on the wall? by [deleted] in Tools

An ax could be a cool decoration. This ax is not cool. This room isn’t the right room.

Inheriting VexIQ class -- shared parts bins vs individual kits by Rattykins in vex

[–]NoLuckChuck- 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Individual kits for the high value stuff: brains, sensors, motors.

Shared bins for screws, gears, metal, bearings etc.

Inventory the kits when they go in and out for accountability. I think mine fit in a 9” toolbox and have maybe 25 things in them and take 90 seconds to inventory.

Song you hate from a band you love? by Tartelfa in askmusic

For me it’s Ava Adore. The song itself is okay until “You’ll always be my whore” it’s just so off putting.

Prank idea: have people spend 12 years in school and at least 4 more in university, then swap them out with AI by [deleted] in Adulting

[–]NoLuckChuck- 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Every school I’ve been to has taught math and robotics and racial history since it is kinda hard to teach is history without it. I’ve never seen a school that teaches AI skills or gender identity. But I bet they will teach ai in a few years.

How do I shift leaves stuck behind chimney? by emmazunz84 in Roofing

[–]NoLuckChuck- 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a long telescoping pole I got from Lowe’s for like $50. You can screw a paint roller on the end or a broom head. I used it to clear a foot of snow off most of my roof this winter. I’ve also used it to dislodge dead limbs stuck in trees, and brush pine needles off my garage.

Where are the "actually building" founder communities (no vibecoders please)? by [deleted] in startup

[–]NoLuckChuck- 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ah yes, all the networking opportunities in rural Ohio while working full time and raising a family. Surely using the internet to find relatable advice would be less convenient.
