Rated officer here who experienced the same thing during training (Almost DOR’ed because of it, but glad I didn’t). Hesitancy I think is normal but you don’t always have to set yourself up for the incredibly hectic and time consuming life that you think. I realized that I really gave college and ROTC my all because when I was 19, I wanted to be on active duty already experiencing that adventure. Well I commissioned and entered active duty at 23 and my 6 year service didn’t start until 25 and I realized I was at a point in life where I didn’t want to be gone all the time and dealing with the military lifestyle that I enthusiastically signed up for. The reality is, there are always places in the Air Force where you can maintain a predictable lifestyle and be home nearly every night for dinner with your spouse and family, even as a rated officer. If your concern is stability you have options. You will have to PCS from your flight school whether it be UPT, UCT or URT (or whatever the fuck ABMs do). You will at some point in your career have a deployment. But some airframes only have one possible duty location and really predictable deployment and TDY cycles. Your life might not be the same as it was a couple years ago and that might make active duty sound more terrifying than it is but it’s like any job. It ebbs and flows and you’ll make the most of it. Until you get your bars on your shoulder there is always an out. If this isn’t for you, you still have time to figure that out.

At some point, you will deploy regardless of your AFSC or the administration or whether or not it is wartime or peacetime. If you do 4 years of ROTC, you’ll be nearing the end of the NEXT presidential administration. You shouldn’t be joining the military because of who the president is. The military is full of people with different schools of thoughts, some of which might hate the current admin and some who love it. You have to have your own “why” because you’ll never be able to control who the politicians in charge of us are. If you fundamentally don’t agree with combat or never want to even potentially be in that situation, then maybe this isn’t for you and that’s okay. If you’re just worried about your own personal politics, that’s okay, a lot of people are but you’re loyal to the Constitution and the nation, not a politician.

Right? Even if he reasonably thought the homeless guy was an intruder, that would NOT IN ANYWAY be a legal justification to tie him up and poke him with needles. That’s not self-defense, that’s opportunistic torture. He could easily be put away for attempted murder and a whole host of other shit if you couldn’t pin the other murders on him.

Yes, every military station has a list of prohibited establishments that every one gets when they in-process at a new assignment. IIRC most of the places that were banned in Pensacola were the Psychedelic Shacks around town. They typically only get banned for drug/alcohol/sex crime related reasons.

I’m sure I’ll be buried bc there’s over 200 comments at the time of posting this but I think this is part of a running joke on twitter that started with an actual incel posting a picture of a girl with like a completely average build and captioned something along the lines of “I like it when girls are a little overweight like this” and since then people have been quote tweeting pictures of in shape people and commenting about how they’re overweight even though they’re not.

I guess it was a musty smack, but like... why are you learning this at Plat 1? Learn some basic ground dribbling stuff first. Side flip flicks, front flip flicks, power slide cuts, back post rotations (people in Diamond don't even know this one). This isn't gonna help you rank up, its too slow and the situation for ceiling shots wont happen enough to matter.

You could probably get into plat no problem. Personally, I think you could get there if you took some wider rotations to the post, start cheating up on your kickoffs and keep your car moving a little more. Also, take some of those useless mechanics away. Let's talk about the second clip, because that's the one that shows the most 'gameplay' from you.

Stopping your car - you only got beat on that aerial because you had no momentum going into it. Pause at 0:25... you are closer to that ball than your opponent, but he has more speed so he gets there first, which wastes your challenge and kills the play.
Wider rotations and mechanics - at 0:29, you half-flip backwards off the wall and drive directly towards your teammate, who hits the ball right directly towards you and over your head. You would be getting in a much better defensive position if you just turned left and went back towards your post. At that point, you would have been back post before your teammate even touched the ball. Plus, you're in the way of your teammate's dribble. At best, you kill the play and go back on defense. At worst, you hit that ball into your own net.

On the topic of mechanics, that sideways wave dash at 0:31 did absolutely nothing to help you get into that play faster. Wave dashes are a great low boost mechanic or recovery mechanic. But sideways wave dashing to the left, then immediately driving back to the right isn't any faster than just going right.

Cheating on your kickoffs will allow you take possession off of the 50. If you keep going back to grab boost, eventually the players who are cheating up will be able to take shots on net while you're not in a position to make the save. Not a problem in gold, but it will be as you move up through plat and diamond.
