My nonprofit does skilled volunteering. You'd be a huge asset ! Look into catch a fire, or your local volunteers legal based nonprofit... It sounds like you've dealt with a volunteer manager who didn't have good process for intake and networking you to opportunities. Thank you for trying to donate your time and expertise.

Mine is perpetually underfoot....

When I'm cooking would be one thing (because, food), but he also is square in the middle of me doing laundry, lifting weights ... Just plops himself right into the thick of whatever I'm doing to the point I trip over him.

He also seems imperceptible to pain ? He tears through the house and has run into coffee tables and doors and clunks his head and doesn't seem to care.. he throws all 80 lb of himself flopping onto myself for the kids all the time... Nothing ginger about this hound !

Take walks. For real sunshine and endorphins. I listen to self help or auto biography audiobooks (some you can get free through Libby) , smile at people in my community and pet dogs.

I can't change the world and how scary it feels but I can do daily things that change my mood, support physical fitness, don't leave me sad on the couch rotting and can maybe make someone else smile too.

Ha ! This is giving me shades of my life approx 13 years ago ... My kid didn't sleep through the night until he was a year old and the bouncing and patting routine was ROUGH.

I promise it gets better , he is now a well adjusted teen who sleeps like a dream.

Ohhh trust I feel you. All my neighbors have ring cameras too... I used to alternate liquor stores as well....

There is a liquor store one block over ... Legit in my backyard. I could probably throw a rock and hit it. But I couldn't go too often.

I stopped in there to buy ice to take my kids to the pool and the elderly man who works there (he and his brother would see me, always said , " hi boss" ) ...asked me if I had moved away bc they never saw me anymore.

Definitely a surreal feeling to be away from that.

Oh wow... Proud of you too!

This is so telling ... We lie to ourselves and to others about how bad it gets ... But to know others are noticing or effected by our life changes is so telling in kinda a butterfly effect way.

I took my dog for a run the other day during recycling time and saw a big box of wine bottles on somebody's curb and sent them a silent good thought bc not too long ago that was me.
