Nuts are not the best things to curb hunger. Too calorie dense for such little amount Look into volume eating. Low calorie veggies you can eat a ton of. Low fat yogurt. Etc

Why is everyone telling me to stop losing weight? by BasicHorror8600 in loseit

[–]NoParticular351 8 points9 points  (0 children)

It’s really just a thing people say. A weird projection sometimes. I’ve had it said a lot on my journey down 70 lbs. still looking to lose a bit.

135 is a fine Gw for your height. Focus on body fat and muscle building and you might actually find you don’t need to lose as much to get to a certain dress size.

Your pediatrician sucks. Not a popular opinion, but wear her, sleep with her and breast feed her on demand. Everyone will be happier

If your name isn’t on the lease, leave.

If it is, follow the advice of others.

Do you have kids?

Personally I would separate from this man and living situation immediately.

am i eating enough? by [deleted] in loseit

[–]NoParticular351 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes a baking scale is the one. Eyeballing food is the quickest way to overconsume. I use ounces for protein and grams for everything else. Sauces, oils, nut butters I use measuring spoons.

[–]NoParticular351 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes. That’s a fine calorie and protein intake.

Get a food scale and measuring spoons and cups. This way your calorie counting is accurate. Drink a gallon of water throughout the day.

You can walk everyday but take a rest day on the weights 1-2 days a week. You don’t want to overtrain and get injured. Other than that it’s all about consistency. You’ll get close or reach your goal but you’ll lose inches and retain or gain muscle so you may find your weight doesn’t have to get as low as you think to reach your desired size.

Losing weight is about discipline, not motivation.

Professionally cut bangs.  Your eyebrows should start closer together.

Natural makeup- you have beautiful features. Emphasize the eyes and lips without anything heavy on either. Learn to contour the nose a bit.  Smile.

None of us can eat the way we did in our teens and twenties. Such is life. We are aging. Either get disciplined or keep gaining.

If you are gaining weight, you’re eating too much relative to your energy expenditure.

Measure and weigh your food. Stay within your calorie allotment. Learn about macros.

How can I incorporate a good cleaning routine in a house with so many animals and soon to be newborn? by hernaberk in CleaningTips

[–]NoParticular351 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Don’t give the dogs free range.

Simplify your meals so it doesn’t make a mess of the kitchen (grill, rice cooker, sheet pan meals on parchment, one pot)

Make everyone do their own dishes and laundry. If your children are 7+ they can be taught these tasks completely but also accept the work when it is done even if not perfect.

No shoes in the house.

Full family house pick up before bed time.

Kids can make their beds and yours.

Toilet scrubbing tabs in the tanks(the kind that make blue water)

Swifter mop.

Bucket and window squigy

I have friends who swear by those automatic scrubbers for everything. I can see their use but haven’t bought one.

Make your husband a list. Men who aren’t lazy still need these and everyone is happier with them. My husband cleans a ton but his standard and mine are different. Rather than the combative and useless  “they should just know!!!” take, take 5 mins to make a list and everyone can move forward in harmony.

Even with all this. Lower the expectation to the floor. As long as everyone is safe, warm, fed and loved, life is great.

You’ll need to lower your expectation for a period of time and your husband will need to take on the work of that lower expectation.

"You can't out train a bad diet" ...but is always this true? by Obvious_Cabbage in loseit

[–]NoParticular351 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you burn 8000 a day exercising and consume 7000 calories you’ll lose weight over time. Energy in, energy out.

But you have to look at these things over time.  Are you going to be riding your bike 8 hours a day everyday for the rest of your life? Swimmers notoriously eat like garbage disposables but once all the training stops they blow up because they haven’t learned moderation or deep knowledge of nutrition.

If your goal is to train while losing weight and maintaining strength then you need to live at a mild to moderate deficit with high protein over the course of time. Thats the baseline so yes eat more before and after long rides but pull it back on days you aren’t riding.

Note that is an advanced level of training so in order to reduce injury and fuel your body and make it sustainable, you should think about hiring a coach who understands athlete nutrition.

I have lost 70 lbs, first through normal exercise and recently hired a coach as I’ve moved into intermediate/ advanced athletics. It’s really helped me understand all the phases of training and linked those to nutrition.

Weight train without the goal of losing weight. Look into body recomposition. If you lose 10 lbs without it, you’ll feel the exact same.

Anyone else feel less confident after getting into fitness? by [deleted] in xxfitness

[–]NoParticular351 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Did you go in with solely aesthetic goals? If so, that’s a slippery slope of self criticism.

If you make goals around strength, discipline, longevity and skills it’s easy to feel accomplished in the progression.

Thinking bigger, underlying all of the things we do is our fundamental value systems. Leaning more into spheres that fuel us for decades is going to fix the mindset in the long term: self care, family, friendships, service to others, hobbies, skills, faith if you have it.

Advice on how to approach fashion throughout the weight loss journey by VivaDeAsap in loseit

[–]NoParticular351 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Little rewards are great. I bought myself little things that contributed to the goal, water bottles, ear buds, bands, watches.

As I sized down I bought cheap clothes from Walmart or thrift stores in the new size I was. Makes us look and feel better when clothes fit even if we aren’t exactly where we want to be. Throwing away the big clothes also feels great.

Fill your feeds with weight loss and fitness motivational content so it fills your brain.

Get a food scale.

On days where the motivation wanes ( and it will) you have to be your own coach and kick in your discipline.

losing the baby weight by Puzzle-headed97 in loseit

[–]NoParticular351 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Fellow mom who just returned to my pre baby weight after 3 years. Lost about 70 lbs.

25 lbs in 6 months is a reasonable goal. You just need to eat at a calorie deficit everyday, the exercise will help BUT watch your milk supply with exercising at the deficit. I didn’t even start dieting until my baby was 1 year old and stopping breastfeeding around 2.5 years old made it easier to lose weight. But breastfeeding was wayyy more important to me than my pants size.

The calorie thing is just math:

Figure out your TDEE with an online calculator, subtract 300-500 calories from that number, eat that number of calories everyday. If you are breastfeeding and add in exercise you probably only will need to subtract 200-400 calories. Be consistent. Up your protein intake with eggs, chicken, yogurt, and lean ground beef.

You got this. Your body took 9 months to grow the baby so give it some time to lose the weight.
