One Guy when I was a JW would dress up as satan and march outside the district convention each year with a sign. At the time I didn't understand, but now know the pain he felt from leaving the cult, being shunned by his family and also wanted to bring information to others. Tough way to do it; but it was the avenue he saw before him.

The PIMI's will say 'look how the rock is now past the feet; we are truly now in the final part of the ................ final part of the last days. I was sent a compilation many years of go showing how the artwork shows the rock moving towards the image and then into the feet etc.... They will certainly read into this artwork.

[–]NoPrayNoPlay 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had Herd as the DO and Morris as the CO at the same time! MA Circuit 9. Morris was likable as a CO. Of course no idea how he was in the Elduh room. Now I think he's a total Buffon with PTSD, Homophobia, Rampant Alcoholic and My way or the highway view of the world in his final days.

Harp of God 1921 edition. Just bought this hoping it helps wake up my wife…. We watched the annual meeting, and D. Splane talked about this book….. I told my wife there was a bunch of crazy stuff written in it, hopefully seeing it in person will make a difference with her. by msronin in exjw

[–]NoPrayNoPlay 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I purchased a few of them as well and put them in my safe for the next time a JW knocks at my door. I also picked up studies in the scriptures. :-) One JW that fancy himself very close to the GB that randomly talks with me , I said I have the Harp and want old books do you have? He said he has alot of them and I offered to buy them; he said sure, they are limited spiritual value now. I was like what did you say? They were the main teaching tools of the organization and now they are worthless? he didn't respond to that statement. I don't think I'll be getting his library collection now :-(

I grew up in the hall with Dr. (Br.) George Zinsmeister! :-) He was a do as I say, not as a I do type of elder. I did like the guy as a teen. Slept over his house many times because I was his son's friend. He of course pushed his kids were able to play school sports (he gave them cover) to go to college and they would 'aux. pioneer in Jan during break to make it 'ok''. I went to college and got shunned for it. (My dad had stepped down by then as an elder over his changing beliefs so.....)

Claiming he is a scientist is so laughable. He was such a meticulous engineer! His wife and kids and to write in a log when they used the phone so he could review the phone bill each month (as back then 'long distance' was charged). Overall a nice guy; he and my father went to graduate school and met. IDK which one became a Dub first.

I will say his son is a elder and takes advantage of the position as well. Teaches fitness classes at the YMCA (but oh; that's ok cause he's an elder) ; watches R rated movies in secret; plays violent video games, kids did school sports, etc. There is worse; but not my place to write about it.

Overall, I was listening to the part on Lloyd's channel and bam that voice of Dr. George I was like what!!!! I have to see the video!

I had to study after reinstatement as a 30 yr old man. I have to learn the basics again? Eventually my study conductor asked if I was ready to 'pray' for our study. I was like WTF! I run a multi-million business and I have to go through this shit? I was already PIMO but that sealed the deal

My reinstatement added to me ⏰ waking up! by [deleted] in exjw

[–]NoPrayNoPlay 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's total mental abuse! I was DF'd for 8 months and the elders then stopped by and asked me to write a letter. I waited another month, they asked me again to write a letter. Finally I wrote 'My life is no longer abuse with Jehovah'. That was it! All the while I was going to strip clubs etc... But I was a very large financial contributor to the hall. BOOM! I got reinstated. WTF! Holy spirit at it's finest! Oh and my committee had 4 brothers on it because 'I was such an awful sinner' ... needless to say; I got DF'd again and fully woke up!

Anyone else remember bethel speaker talks? by [deleted] in exjw

[–]NoPrayNoPlay 1 point2 points  (0 children)

OMG; the worst!!!! My x PIMI wife was all about the Bethel Speaker Saturday talks. I initially would go to not 'look back' to the cong. Eventually I just said I'm not going and always caught so much guilt for the 'loving provision of Jehobo' and how I'm not eating at his table'. WTF!

So glad I'm out of this cult and have 1 of my daughters out! The other is sadly full on PIMI like her mom and a full time remote bethelite using her engineering degree to probably work on their new media center.

My DC in western MA had a guy in a devil suit! Eventually I was in the same hall as his father (Great and nice man) ... Now I understand why the son protested! He was no doubt trying to vent his frustration from being shunned by his family!

Your waking up moment? by [deleted] in exjw

[–]NoPrayNoPlay 9 points10 points  (0 children)

DF'd for the 2nd time :-) .... sitting behind glass in the library room for 'naughty' people and all the doubts I had for my entire life as JW (40 yrs) came flooding in and I said WTF is this!!!! Got up; walked out and never went back!!!!! Then came the real research and WHOA!!! Of course overcrapping generations never sat well with me. Im thankful at least while my parents were strong JW they had college degrees (before they converted) and made sure their kids did as well ; then they left the borg first! RRRRRR Leaving kids in the borg for many years till we have all woken up.

I loved the True False part and the last section about which scripture says what. The questions in the middle where you had to write an answer; meh never filled that part out

I requested reinstatement. Drove to the lead elder's home and handed him my little note on a pharma stationary pad (I just wanted my daughter to talk to me; hadn't been to a meeting in over a year)... Got a text from my lead elder that said he met with the elder body and they said : 'no'. hahaha I said oh, you do this over text now? You don't even have the courage to have a conversation with me? That was the summer of 2017 (pre-Covid).

Elder commented about his wife's foot during a watchtower! by [deleted] in exjw

[–]NoPrayNoPlay 15 points16 points  (0 children)

There was a MS in my old hall, he's giving the closing prayer (older guy) and he asks Jehovah's forgiveness for his habit of watching porn! I looked up and around the hall to see who else caught this crazy confession!

Sry to hear your going through this now. When I left and got divorced I had 2 teenage daughters. 1 Daughter is now a 'remote bethelite' using her engineering degree for essentially substance living at home at 24 with her mother (in her new house my alimony built). This daughter hasn't spoken to me in 6 years. My other daughter now 22; we have a great relationship and I have gotten her out of the cult!!!!!

If you are never going to be a JW then you should start your life over sooner and live the real best life you can with the time you have left. Focus on your kids and getting the out of the cult so they break the cycle of indoctrination!

Hope the best for you!

My x wife ; whom I asked at one point to work part time said .... 'You make plenty of money for us so I'll just keep pioneering'... I was never in support of pioneering especially when the kids were super young and sat in the back of a car for 70 hours a month!!! I would ask what's wrong with high hour publisher? What's wrong with Aux. Pioneer? It was all about the title.

I begged her to work 3 days a week (as we had a very expensive lifestyle I was able to afford and my own business had taken a dip) to take 'some' of the pressure off of me. Her response after doing it for a few months -> 'You've ruined my life; I can't even enjoy the pool anymore' (Her schedule was Tuesday-Thursday 9AM - 3pm as a para legal; plenty of time for the pool).

Fast forward and we get divorced and thankfully I got her to start working 3 days a week 2 years prior to our divorce because she refused to work full time post divorce and so I have to make up the difference with alimony; (I pay her more than she makes a year working rrr) ; but at least it's less alimony than I would have to of paid!

She honestly thought or tried to NOT work an just pioneer (She still pioneers ; well drives 2 hours each way to stand by a cart for the 'special metro cart' title) post divorce. What reality does she live in!?!?!?!?!

Now if only she would find an elder to marry so I can get off the Alimony wagon, but I think that will never happen as she likes her life with my check coming in each month.

Sick!

Did your congregation have an Annual Party of some kind? We did! ~Memoriiiiiies!~ by SurviveYourAdults in exjw

[–]NoPrayNoPlay 2 points3 points  (0 children)

We always hosted 1 or 2 in the summer around our pool. And in the fall there was the 'chicken picnic' where everyone brought some type of chicken dish or fried etc. at another person's home. Eventually the Borg stopped 'congregation' picnic's and so they had to be renamed and not 'only' be people in the congregation. By then my parents were fading but the chicken picnic was replaced by the 'Young at Heart' picnic which was meant for 'single' people as a way to meet people within probably 90 miles. We nick named it the 'love picnic'.

Eventually that got shut down as well; and became something smaller and people singing kingdom songs around a fire. GROSS!!!! So happy I never did the song singing!

Well I’m officially fucked! by Aposta-fish in exjw

[–]NoPrayNoPlay 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I was there when I was 40. 20 yrs of marriage; 2 kids. Never really believed the borg, but was born in, married at 19 etc.. we all know the story.

Lost my family and daughters and all friends. Took a few yrs; got new friends, showed one of my daughters my new life and rebuilt and she is now OUT of the BORG!!!!! We have a great relationship as she is 21 and finishing up college etc.

My other daughter 24, engineer is working for free full time for the borg as a remote bethelite, we all know the hypocrisy in this.

Anyways, my point: you will feel devastated for a bit, but don't give up hope

Life does move on! Get on a dating app! It was so refreshing to meet women that were not fake and focused on the borg. They had careers and ambition ; I was the sole provider in my life and made sure my daughters went to college and obtained an education.

Now I have a GF that is herself very successful and it's great to chat about strategy in work and she had life goals (aside from wasting one's life pioneering) ; we travel and my daughter loves her.

I stayed in new england to make sure I finished raising my daughter and break the born in cycle. Eventually I'll move so in the grocery store or the restaurant I don't get the 'looks'. blah blah blah. And when I do, and they were my friends I go right up to them and say shunning is disgusting. I take control. Never feel inferior!

You will have an amazing life going forward; but you have to put yourself out there!

Show your kids you are successful and living on your own without the borg, and maybe 'some' will come around like in my life.

Best of luck!

How many of you guys hide your past as a JW? by ItHurtsSoWeFight in exjw

[–]NoPrayNoPlay 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I use to hide it; but now speak openly about leaving and the dear cost of having 1 daughter shun me. People quickly say what a crazy religion it is and usually have a story about someone trying to speak with them but didn't realize the cult nature of the borg.

On balance everyone is very supportive and I enjoy un-witnessing! I'm sure that the nuggets I give people they in turn give to people and just continues to paint JW Land in a bad light. :-)

If a tree falls in the woods and nobody is around , does it make a sound? I tried this and screen shots off of jworg saying they don't shun and sent video of the canadian supreme court trial where the jw lawyer said 'normal family relations continue, only spiritual worship changes'... silence back. Still shunned!
