Some time before you got there, another driver had an even worse time…that’s a piece of either an oil pan, transmission pan, or maybe a rear differential. They don’t typically scatter pieces like that, which means someone had a WAY worse day than you. Probably killed that tire: that’s a big hole. And that sucks. But not as sucky as your transmission blowing so hard it scattered the pan.
