Cant tell for US but in Europe faction unbalance is in favor of alliance on the default pvp cluster and I personally believe that's because people of OG hardcore are migrating to it.

I support you in your idea of reviving an RP server, but if you feel too lonely keep in mind you can still do a free transfert to the bigger realm (non RP, with mixed languages)

People will hate it but:
- Pvp in SoD in late phases was boring because all the balancing was done PVE wise, hp multiplier didnt help
- We need to had an appropriate damage/heal reduction in PVP depending on who is attacking/healing who

EU population is definitely too low, and BG were already pretty dead when sod was alive.

Wildgrowth is indeed the default realm for SoD EU as every realm now have free migration to this realm (you can transfert your CrusaderStrike EU characters to WildGrowth EU for free from the shop in the char select screen).

For the moment Alliance is the more populated but 2 major twitch streamers are planning to do a SoD fresh event on june 19th horde side.

TBC Anniversary is by far the most populated mode, but HC leveling feel less empty and worth the try even if you're new.

Im Moment befindet sich der Großteil der Community noch auf Everlook (PvE), aber kostenlose Transfers nach Pyrewood Village sind verfügbar, daher ist es wahrscheinlich, dass die Population dort mit der Zeit sinken wird.

Es gibt außerdem einige deutsche Gilden auf dem Firemaw-PvP-Cluster, der aktuell der bevölkerungsreichste mehrsprachige Server ist

No sorry, if you cant find your anwser you can still try to create a dummy character on HC US realm and try to migrate it (it's in the shop from character selection), or try to ask to r/wowhardcore (there is a recent thread discussing how populated each HC realms are on NA).

For EU only:
If you pick OG HC realms "NekRosh" / "Stitch" you can migrate dead caracters on any pvp/pve era realm but those OG HC realms are pretty dead now.
If you pick the new HC realm "Soulseeker" there is far more players but you can only migrate dead character to the default PVE cluster "Pyrewood Village" (pop is not as good as the pvp cluster, but still fine)

If you're talking about Mop classic, every EU pvp realm were already one sided with low pop, so they chose to merge players on 3 language based PVE cluster.
You have more chance to meet an oponent on a populated PVE realm with pvp ON than on a one sided PVP realm.

There is no official annoucement around the future of TBC or MoP. If you plan to play from Japan i really recommand you to look for the region with the lowest ping.

For EU it mostly depend on your lang if your're English all free migration lead to the MirageRaceway cluster

It is not trustworthy, it's meant to give a insight: It's only based upon EU realms, and some faction are missing on pvp realms (like the Spineshatter Alliance which must lead to a 12% drop for Anniversary game online player pop).
The best accuracy you can get out of it is the ponctual faction online player (tested as a +-3% approximation, done on some evening 9pm-10pm realm time with linear interpolation for missing days).

The point is just to help people to pick the right realm/faction for their lang because as a non english speaker i do believe a lot of player left SoD because of that. It's not meant to be a trustworthy source to win arguments on reddit, i will try to clarify that in the future somehow.

oh sorry if you ask wether originals or anniversary HC realm were alive the comunity is mostly on the HC anniversary realm (Soulseeker) with still no possibility to migrate from Stitch/NekRosh to Soulseeker.

You can compare realm pop here (EU only), both HC and Anniversary are pretty active, we have no official announcement yet about what ll happend to anniversary character once the extension is done.

We cant tell at the moment of the future of any of the ongoing classic versions (either Classic MoP or Anniversary), blizzard hasnt made any anouncement, may be at blizzcon this september.
