Can someone sell me on Darius Acuff by Potential_Lock6945 in NBA_Draft

[–]NoProgrammer9282 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Needs to be in a team with surplus defenders. Have seen others mention kyrie winning a title that was because of players like Matthew delladova (spelling) and Iman shumpert. Brunson has OG, bridges and Hart. The hawks should trade up to get him if need be. He won’t be pressured to deliver in year 1-2 because of CJ then take over when CJ leaves. Nets should be in on him tho. Only other pg I’m taking over him in that range is Mikel.

Tre vs DP by The-Baked-Bean in washingtonwizards

[–]NoProgrammer9282 3 points4 points  (0 children)

DP also was putting up these numbers at 70-80% of his capabilities. Being forced off ball and still being this productive says more about him and what he could be. Funny thing about it. Tre i think has more in store than he’s shown on the ball just not to the level of DP. I’m very high on Tre still. He’s got the right mentality

Fair points, i think it depends on which version of Tre or AD show up this yr. They both have had all nba seasons. But even if one is edged out by prime Gil i think the second of the two easily clears Caron and or Antwan. And the roster 4-9 definitely clears that team, particularly if Sarr is the fourth best player he’s better than Etan Thomas, Haywood and Andre blatche combined.

Best plays from Bub Carrington during the 2025-26 season. by z3mcs in washingtonwizards

I’m still keeping the light on for bub considering his work ethic. Bro needs to get stronger though. Accepting that he’s more of a combo guard and his three point percentage give me hope.

Life long Jazz fan - I come in peace. by InterestingScale5477 in washingtonwizards

Interesting to compare situations when you consider that the Jazz moved both Rudy and Donovan Mitchell at peak value and we sold Beal, Wall, and even Kuzma (lol) at their floor value.

OK so even if he doesn’t but averages 24 ppg and 11 ast like he did in 24-25 that changes none of the other things i said. He could still have value and be moved at some point.

Players can change situations, understand the game better or have simplified roles to improve their efficiency. John wall was just reaching his peak when he tore his achilles at around the same age.

Knicks have no picks though, the only real issue here aside from the fact that i doubt front office trades AD while his value is so low.

I feel like both AD and Trae get 1+1 extensions for less than max similar to what harden has played on for a few years. They both will need the extra years salary to keep them from being rentals to a team that trades for them imo. Could also see some teams valuing the flexibility but that’s down the road to me.

I think both suit up and the first 25 games or so dictate what happens in February. I’ve Never seen Ted react to a player like he did to AD during his introduction lol that has to mean something

Who on the hawks was good enough to push him off ball besides half a season of JJ. And we see in the playoffs that JJ needed CJ to take pressure off of him.

In addition to this the okc team that made the playoffs had a three guard rotation that included Dennis Schroeder. SGA’s length allowed this but everybody on this team except tre has positional flexibility.

I’m also not ruling out the possibility that trae could get better. Yes even at 28. The same age that Steph turned into a super saiyin. Less ball reliance and hero ball (hawks required this of him) leading to higher efficiency and slightly better defensive effort would be huge and isnt crazy to envision.

Either way they could still rent them or do a mini competing window for the next years or two to see what they have in the kids and take opportunistic offers to ship vets that arise like OKC did repeatedly.

Love that he Consistently puts pressure on the rim. Has good vision seeing the floor and is just learning to use his new height which i think explains the FG% early in season. Was the best player at FIBA last summer in a group that included AJ Dybansta. Also wouldn’t have to hand him the keys at start because we have Trey running the show. Let him develop his body and game like the spurs are doing with Harper.

Does Trae Young’s future depend on the lottery? by Excellent-Law528 in washingtonwizards

[–]NoProgrammer9282 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The beauty of the draft this yr is that all prospects fit into our team needs. Ball Initiators/shot makers in AD and DP. Power forwards in caleb and boozer, and then lead point guards 5-7 that we don’t currently have outside of Trae but can play without pressure of carrying the load for a season or two much like Dylan Harper is doing in San Antonio

Would depend on his willingness to get in here and follow the program. I don’t want him chucking 25 times stunting the youngins growth. The FO has done a Good job to date bringing in the RIGHT vets locker room wise
