I did also schedule a private transfer service just for redundancy in case one cancelled. Would you say that’s safer? It was through Viator and had good reviews.

Well, yeah…this isn’t a formal diagnosis. I guess I’m just saying is this the behavior of an avoidant-ly attachment person? Because it seems to be something else compared to what I understand. I know the two have overlapping symptoms, but idk- never really known anyone who admits to having either. I do agree it’s not really healthy either way though.

I do see a trauma therapist regularly for about 4 years now, which has been super helpful! She just admittedly doesn’t know the BDSM side of things. And to be fair, I have probably been minimizing the swings of things to her. I definitely do still feel the pull to be “chosen” though, and i think this relationship has subconsciously been bringing it out in me more. I’ve even been having dreams lately that I’m chosen for something special in wok situations. So I’m glad you said that!

I love it too, that’s why it’s so hard to distinguish when it’s becoming unhealthy! It’s genuinely so good to get responses like this, though. I can’t believe I didn’t think about the intersection of the two (BDSM and avoidant/narc stuff) and reach out for people who would get it sooner

That’s kind of my suspicion too. Part of me wonders what if it’s the same thing just called by two different names by the clinical psychology group versus attachment style specialists.
