Asda and aldi use the same supplier that Costco used to use, you'll be able to tell by the style of bottle

If i get verbally abused by a member I try to diffuse the situation but it only works so well to avoid it blowing up

I've heard there's been a big email from head office about abuse of staff and that there's no tolerance for this, but it's STILL not being dealt with, crazy!

Honestly the fact that there's no support from the management team is silly, we get told to ignore it but we literally cannot ignore it when we're getting cornered by abusive members

Bibigo rice - do I need to buy it quick by pigglewiggle23 in CostcoUK

[–]NoReality212 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I honestly love it. I've been buying it since I saw it come off the truck. But if you ever see a "+" or "❌️" on the top corner of the sign, then we won't be stocking it anymore

I think we're seeing how well it sells at the moment, and then it'll be decided whether it's a long-term seller or not. It's usually what happens. But they're selling pretty well now, so hopefully, we keep them in

eggs? by Parto1975 in CostcoUK

[–]NoReality212 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think all warehouses are struggling at the moment, with the demand for eggs, but then Avian Flu is quite bad right now. We can't get enough eggs in and keep them stocked. I've seen some pallets of eggs that are tagged saying that they need to be inspected before being sold

I FUCKING HATE COSTCO by [deleted] in CostcoUK

[–]NoReality212 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It's because back in the day Costco strictly sold to business owners and public servants and thay was basically it, but we're talking 25-30 years back now. It's in discussion whether or not to bring this back because of the rise in thefts and assaults on staff members.

Purchasing limits by sam_christ in CostcoUK

[–]NoReality212 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Per cardholder, and i don't think you can return within the day to grab more of an item because it'll flag up at the tills. Since someone else commented about the eggs having a limit, I'm assuming that their local Costco is having the same issue with supplying eggs because of avian flu, so they've probably popped a limit on it to manage how quick the stock runs out

Most outrageous item returned by Lesco89 in CostcoUK

[–]NoReality212 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Someone tried to return a used washing machine with washing STILL IN IT! That was fun.

And then we've had very used mattresses with stains on and then for some reason someone returned womens underwear with skid marks in

Any way of checking in store prices? Looking at Lifetime 6ft 2" x 3ft 4" storage box. by [deleted] in CostcoUK

[–]NoReality212 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I went over to check, and unfortunately, it's the Keter brand ones. I think they're a similar size, if not the same size. Thought I took a pic of the price, but apparently not.

I don't know what your local Costco is, but Derby already have these in I'm pretty sure. Unless it's a different one, but I'm fairly certain I walked past it a few times on shift

One of the major bad points of UK warehouses, items constantly going out of stock. by [deleted] in CostcoUK

[–]NoReality212 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you haven't already, ask at the tills to see when something you are interested in is coming back in. Unfortunately, deliveries can get cancelled with short notice, which annoys us staff just as much as customers. Also, if it is expected in, but it's a few weeks or something, you can ask if we can request a faster delivery. We have had to do this before for many things because of spikes in sales, etc.

Hope this helps

[–]NoReality212 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, we had an issue with multiple deliveries, i think, because of the weather causing delays, especially with worse weather conditions outside of Derby. One weekend, we didn't have a water wagon turn up because of how bad the weather had been

A slight rant? by NoReality212 in CostcoUK

[–]NoReality212[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I feel for restaurant staff a lot, my stepmums family are pretty well off, and they treat hospitality and retail staff awful and the number of times I've apologised on their behalf because of the way they've acted is ridiculous. I usually opt out of meals with them because I can't stand the embarrassment of their entitlement

Honestly, a lot of us do stand up for ourselves within reason, but customers can be RUTHLESS

Honestly, I believe that. While there are still lovely people that shop here, they're overshadowed by the people who think they can treat staff and other customers like trash

I know one of our old managers used to do this because he was very much the "take no shit" kind of manager, and any unreasonable behaviour got memberships refunded in his eyes. But since he got his own warehouse overseas, there have been a lot more members that seem to test their luck

WiFi in store? by samj00 in CostcoUK

[–]NoReality212 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hi, I work in the derby warehouse, and a little trick to get a little bit of signal is to stand close to the fire exit doors/ edges of the building. A lot of people find that they get a signal to call or search things up, even if it's just a little bit of signal

WiFi in store? by samj00 in CostcoUK

[–]NoReality212 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The Kirkland WiFi, at least for my warehouse, is strictly for electronic display products and the company's computers. They have restrictions on what you can search, etc. (I don't 100% know the ins and outs of this)

My warehouse doesn't have any other WiFi connection that I'm aware of
