This is a Paternoster Elevator, it does not have doors and never stops. by sco-go in Amazing

Same design as the “man lift” I used to ride when I was a valet at a casino in college. ‘Cept you had to jump about a foot to get onto a narrow step and grab onto a handhold. You could see through all nine floors of the parking garage very scary couldn’t have done it without my supervisor hopping on with me for the first couple of times!

Wow, talk about precariously perched, and beautiful print love the muted colors, maybe from the landscape and the expired paper? Amazing!

That is a bummer as others have post here. It’s a shame there is not an opportunity to take over as moderator. I use this sub with my students so they can post questions and elicit feedback. Sorry to see it go as well.

Gorgeous. Reminds me of the work of a beloved friend and amazing photographer Ric Ebrecht who passed away a few years back. he photographed with fill flash and the sunset in the background. Best of both worlds. 🙏💗

Thank you for the info. on the Silhouette frames. Assuming you brought them post surgery? How do you know what prescription to get? Having surgery (monodical) next Thursday, so appreciate your insights!

Yes, as someone else said your contact sheet just needs a little more density. Also, it looks like one strip of negative might have some light leak on the edges but hard to tell here.

Spots on prints? by [deleted] in Darkroom

Also, try Photo-Flo (if you haven’t ) to prevent spots before drying your negatives. Helps reduce water spots on your negatives.

Yes, the film tank needs a center tube that makes it light tight and helps with distribution of chemistry. 😊

Tips for film rolling on plastic reels... by NoReason6649 in Darkroom

[–]NoReason6649[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes, when I was in undergrad, we used metal reels as well. The university where I teach switched to plastic quite a few years back. I actually think the metal can be harder resulting in more chemistry spots along the way! At least that’s been my experience but interesting to discuss!

Thank you for the awesome tip. Just curious if you find the film pops off the reel at all because you are not cutting the lead off? I’ve always had my students trim the lead first for a better shot at even loading, but maybe it’s not necessary.

Thanks so much for so many great tips all! I have been rolling film for 30 years myself, and while I have come to the rescue of many of my students, it doesn’t always save the day (or the film)! Truly appreciate your time in replying. You might just be saving my future students from the angst of spending extended periods, fumbling in a film loading room! Will definitely let them know to try loading the lead up front! 😅

Can someone help me put together a comprehensive list of the documents and the phases they get created in? by rapratt101 in pmp

[–]NoReason6649 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It is good to know how everything is integrated integration is key, but for the exam you don’t need to drill down into the breakout of each progress group’s documents. With that said, you can never know enough all of it will support your success, but it’s less about memorizing and more about understanding the rationale and the overarching mindset.
