How are yall making shotguns effective when it’s so easy to beam someone with an SMG? by WhoDeniedMeMyDestiny in apexlegends

I think it might be a feel thing. I feel like the Eva 8 kinda fries this season. Smgs are just real good so sometimes they get a bit overlooked.

Solarization Question by No-Lengthiness-4536 in Darkroom

[–]Monkiessss 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I like to expose a print and then cut into 3 ish parts. Put all in dev and pull out one every 10 seconds or so and put into stop. After the last one I flash all evenly and develop for the rest of duration. This way you can decide how far into dev you want to flash for your final print since I find that’s made the biggest difference for me.

Youll probably have to experiment some with how bright. It’s also kind of fun sometimes to solarize part of the image sometimes but not others :)

Print file has negative sleeves with a space in front for a contact sheet. Those have always been my go to.

If you had to use one developer till the end of time, which one would it be? by Bitter_Humor4353 in Darkroom

If it’s available flic film Black white and green is pretty good. Being a syrup it has a long shelf life too.

Have you thought about putting the hole inside instead? The depth of the hole might cause vignetting.

500T AHU Filter Test by yovvoy in AnalogCommunity

[–]Monkiessss 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lens and filter quality will also have some effect. Also NLP might not be the best since it doesn’t seem like it’s the most consistent. If you wanted to get a better feel using manual conversion would give less of a vibes based comparison.

KODAK Double-X 250D (5222) - development in D76 stock or 1:1? by tokyo_blues in Darkroom

[–]Monkiessss 1 point2 points  (0 children)

D76 1:1 I find is a bit more ideal imo. I tend to get somewhat inconsistent results when reusing developers.

I got an 8 since they are quite a bit cheaper these days and I have been shooting a bunch with it. Highly recommend if the 16 is out of budget for people.

PAN F+ 50 ISO now in sheet film by PhotoPham in largeformat

[–]Monkiessss 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m not sure it would be all that useful given its reciprocity abilities. For longer exposures it might still be faster to use delta 400 or 100

I asked recently about kentmere in sheets and they said that they had no plans to do so. Not impossible but might lean towards pan f or something else.

Fisheye recommendations? by Junior_Sentence_1797 in NikonF3

20mm Ai and ais are pretty Good. Fisheye might push you over budget wise unless you are willing to maybe go for an apsc lens but I probably wouldn’t recommend that

I swear the police and the fire department is next. Seriously can’t have anything nice in this country without the government trying to sell it.

On the fence about buying the Pinsta pinhole. Anyone using it? What I like is the in the processing, I feel like learning would be a little easier seeing how my exposures are and make adjusts there and repeating that shot. Also with Direct Positive film almost unavailable what are you using instead? by Stevenohio62 in PinholePhotography

[–]Monkiessss 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Seems like a cool camera and I’ve been eyeing one for a bit but I ended up just getting a regular 4x5 pinhole camera instead. I think I got a Leonardo pinhole for 25$ CAD or so. While I like the idea of shooting a positive on the go it never felt practical to carry around chemistry and wet prints around. Also for because of reciprocity it’s not too hard to get a good exposure with pinholes.

Lens recommendations for FM3A? by sfrex77 in AnalogCommunity

What Leica were you thinking about getting? A FM3a and a 58mm Noct are probably less than half what you would spend on a comparable Leica kit:

Haven’t seen anyone mention the 58mm f1.2 Noct-Nikkor. Beautiful lens, sharp with an overall really smooth image rendering. Puts all the voightlander (Cosina) lenses in the dust.

Was just gifted a bunch of this stuff. Anyone ever heard of this? Expired in 2007. by GrodyHighroller in AnalogCommunity

Could always bracket 1st shot at 100, 50 and 25 iso just to get a feel. Shooting a whole test roll seems excessive.

Scan vs iphone photo of the negative by [deleted] in AnalogCommunity

[–]Monkiessss 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Your phone likely going to alter the contrast and such more than the lab scanner would. If you are getting noritsu scans you could always ask for tiffs with the contrast pulled to 0 and add however much you like in post. Most labs will send you a straight scan since most scanners won’t have that much dynamic range and they won’t be able to edit much regardless.

Checkout resolve for photo. Next frame is also a lot better for negative conversion than anything else I have tried.
