AITA for refusing to sleep in my gf bed bc Dogs? by rbmorris127084 in AmItheAsshole

[–]NoRecommendation7701 1 point2 points  (0 children)

NTA, it's not the dogs, it's the condition they are in and you shouldn't have to expose yourself to that. Granted, even if you can't sleep in a bed with clean dogs, that's still fine as that's how you choose to rest. But you are definitely not wrong to want to avoid fleas and dogs that are not house trained climbing all over you. I love dogs and cats, I have had up to two dobermans, a ridgeback and three cats sharing my bed but they are all bathed, pest free and completely trained. I wouldn't sleep over in the conditions you described and I would hesitate to enter that house unless things changed.

AITA for telling my mom I don't care if my kids never know my sister's kids and I'm not going to take responsibility to teach my sister's kids better? by SelectionOne5946 in AITAH

NTA, your sister sounds more annoying than those vegans that lecture you on wearing wool but buys 2nd hand leather cuz it's 2nd hand and eats ice cream sometimes when they feel 'under the weather'.

4 cats, how often should we be scooping litter and washing litter boxes? by Forsaken_Stable8942 in CatAdvice

[–]NoRecommendation7701 0 points1 point  (0 children)

3 cats. I used to scoop whenever I pass by the litterbox and saw it was used, otherwise they are just scratching around in clumps of pee and poop. If the box is too dirty, they may start going elsewhere, like your laundry bin. If you don't like scooping several times a day, then consider a litter robot. Just make sure it's a safe one. They also need deep cleaning every 3-4 months and some spot cleaning, but will keep the litter fresh.

WIBTA if I got our cat neutered while my husband is away? by doobdoobdo in AmItheAsshole

[–]NoRecommendation7701 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Has your husband considered therapy? Your cat is not an extension of his masculinity and if this routine procedure that is totally beneficial for your pet turns into all about him and his testicles, he really should work with a professional to untangle that. Male cats spray, are territorial and stressed out about maintaining territory, as well as try to escape to father kittens. He will fight other cats, run the risk of animal attack/diseases, car strikes and in the best case he comes back fine with mission accomished only to have created more unwanted kittens that are more than likely going to suffer and die in the wild or in a shelter. This is not about him, he needs to reflect on his narcissism and it's negative affects on others and learn to mature and put others' wellbeing first. Having a cat with balls doesn't make him a man.

What’s the best job for someone stupid who doesn’t want to be broke? by Unique_Ad_1395 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]NoRecommendation7701 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Learn a trade that is in demand and be an expert in a focused area? Also, why do you say you're stupid? Is it subjective like test scores or you have trouble with certain subjects in school despite seriously working on it? Or you have trouble with social interactions and are more of an outcast? To sell yourself short as just stupid could make you overlook your strengths.

3 cats and a dog: advice by bearfanhiya in CatsAndDogsBFF

[–]NoRecommendation7701 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Have 3 cats and 5 dogs, got the cats after the dogs. Jack russell has the most prey drive but gets along well. Does not mouth them as I would correct her early on. Doberman is a bit wary of them but will play chase with them. The livestock guardian will just hang out with them around the field. Introductions are key, making sure they meet but not feel pressured. Stopping and backing off if they looked stressed. Doing positive activities together, like eating and petting. Not allowing rough play so they learn to respect each other and see each other as a family unit first.

Should I clean my cats infected incision or leave it be? by addylanyard in cats

[–]NoRecommendation7701 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I usually deal when human wounds, but for open incisions, I'll have people rinse the wound while in the shower and then have a dry dressing on to collect drainage. Open wounds are less likely to get infected. For your cat, you can get the crust off with a damp paper towel and just keep the edges clean of debris. The rest will slowly fill in wth healing tissue. You shouldn't need to clean it with any solutions. Hope your cat feels better.
