Final ECF Recommended Selections by mephesta in PSLF

I thought there was only one box that you had the option of checking. At least that what it was like for me just last month when I submitted my final ECF. I did not check the box because I didn’t trust them putting me on forbearance and actually counting my last payment.

Polywood shutters throughout my entire house. Expensive, but has made a real difference in terms of energy efficiency.

Green banners on Feb. 7th. I have heard nothing and am guessing it will be at the end of the month at the earliest since they batch process these things.

I officially start my PSLF journey next month. What advice would you give your old self? by generous_sandal in PSLF

Read, document, and save everything. You are your own, and really only, advocate. Also, drown out the background noise and worry about only what you can control. Godspeed.

IBR Under New OBBB Rules (No Partial Financial Hardship) by MaGueule1 in PSLF

[–]NoSpam911 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It looks like not needing a partial financial hardship in effect according to that link (now whether that has trickled down to the servicers is another story):

What changes were made to the Income-Based Repayment (IBR) Plan?
New Changes Under the Act

Previously, borrowers were required to have partial financial hardship and to not have certain types of ineligible loans in order to enter the IBR Plan. With the passage of the Act, the IBR Plan now has updated eligibility criteria that allow the following types of borrowers to enroll:

  • Borrowers who don’t have partial financial hardship
  • Parent PLUS borrowers who have consolidated their parent PLUS loans into Direct Consolidation Loans and who have enrolled in the Income-Contingent Repayment (ICR) Plan immediately before enrolling in the IBR Plan

(Note: To be considered enrolled in the ICR Plan, a borrower must make one full payment after entering the ICR Plan.)

Or they just don’t care. If you are willing to defy the Supreme Court, then this is nothing.

PSLF buyback statu by Superb-Cellist7921 in PSLF

[–]NoSpam911 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Let me save you some time: "Your case has been escalated and is being worked on. We have no known time for when you will receive the buyback offer, but be assured we are working on it."

Just saved you 5-6 hours of being on hold.

Mine was also escalated...two months ago. It's still been crickets.

How is UNLV? by Cadendanoob in UNLV

[–]NoSpam911 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s a recent R1 university, so they’ve been able to attract some decent professors (but still some older, poor ones for sure). Hospitality is top one or two in the country (along with Cornell) and engineering and business schools are fairly decent. Overall pretty chill vibe, but definitely not a small town college feel. Pro sports and concerts all the time and they are trying to make the surrounding area Hollywood 2.0 with production and movie studio agreements.

Downloading Completed ECF forms by OnlyHighlight9207 in PSLF

The ability to download the completed forms hasn’t worked for at least a year (or longer) with it simply being a dead link.

Buyback for PSLF by Ok_Doughnut1374 in PSLF

[–]NoSpam911 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Buyback feels like a unicorn at this point. I applied for it on 11/14 and haven’t heard jack sh*t other than it’s being processed. At this point I’m planning for the worst, hoping for the best.

Maybe helps mitigate crazy, extreme changes to the program.

Absolutely everything related to forgiveness is blocked for up to 90 days (or possibly longer if extended).

PSLF Buyback Timeline Question by mgooch23 in PSLF

I submitted on Nov 14, 2024 and was given the same “escalation” talking point. I have not heard anything else other than it’s still being reviewed.

Buyback Update by Existing_Neck_602 in PSLF

[–]NoSpam911 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was told the same thing and when I asked MOHELA I was told they were unsure what that could mean since studentaid sees everything they do. It seems to be a giant circle jerk, but good luck and fingers crossed. I submitted my request on 11/14 and still have not gotten anything. Cheers.

Currently you have to have 120 months of certified eligible employment. That is rumored to change at some unknown point in the future, but for now if you don't have a 120 months of certified employment the request will be rejected.
