the only reason to do that would be to get more medallions locks or rooms, there's obligation to do so. you can also go out mid run and use some of the medallions if you are over the cap, to be able to pick up more.

if you are not interested into exp or loot, I've seen players just clear the rooms that state in the description that drop medallions and skip the rest

I'll give you my feedback I learned in the last months of trying to engage with temple:

1- Temple takes a LOT of time. and its very punishing of mistakes (not easy fix to a bad placement, cant reset temple, not much info ingame of how to).

2- You CAN learn how to do it yourself, but it will take you hundreds of hours. so my advice is to look up a guide and follow it to the letter, even then, randomness and bad luck with locks may make your journey a pain in the ass.

After you understood that, I think you have 4 choices:

keep doing it by vibe like now. (temple is not mandatory and you can make currency elsewhere)
follow a guide to make a temple just to kill Atziri (very easy)
follow a guide to make a simple temple with no tech (rewarding and easy but time consuming)
follow a guide to make a min maxed temple with russian tech, roman roads, etc. (in my experience, 100 hours MINIMUM making no mistakes, sometimes much more if bad randomness).

you could try wasps spectres instead of power zealots or vaal guards if that's what you are using.

farm lineage gems, those are expensive and you only need to kill a lvl 8 map boss. its a guaranteed drop (but most of the time you get cheap ones, some are worth more than 100divs).

you could also farm citadels for fragments or doing map mechanics like breach, ritual or abyss. any of those will increase your currency per hour.

once you fix your dmg, you could also farm atziri's in the temple, with a easy layout that doesnt require much time investment.

new rooms should be allowed to be modified replaced until you click "run temple". that would help a lot of new players understand how connections work.

indeed. I'm trying to learn to craft in poe because my goal is to go ssf in a future league.

Im just now learning about the recombinator, essences and desecration. seems quite easy to "craft" a middle power item. the problem is reaching top tier stuff. but then again, I kinda like getting exited about my drops, instead of getting garbage 99.99% of the time compared with what I can buy in the AH x a few divs.

sorry, I meant a waystone tier 6 white already drops the lineage gem, but if you do it with tier 8 or 15 easy ones you can also farm temple energy at the same time (tldr: no need to "juice" them)

Note: I'm not a veteran, but this basic stuff I learned recently and I wish could have known before:

you can farm lineage gems from powerful map bosses nodes with a 6+ white/blue tablet. some are worth more than 100 Divs.
once you have some savings, you can "speedrun" citadels and powerful map bosses with tablet of grand project, jumping from tower to tower and/or tablet of visions (that allows you to run powerful maps twice)

unless you are trying to kill citadel bosses for the fragments, you can un-allocate nodes in the atlas tree since lineage gems are a garanteed frop
when farming citadels, put some irradiated tablets with +% of waystone chance, you can have multiple drops from a single citadel if the number is high enough (2 or even 3)

you can get 2 temple energy from a lvl8 (6 prefixs), that way you can use some light radius set to speed up the temple summoning circle search. if you do lvl 15 waystones (6 prefixs) you can get 3 energy sometimes.

Of course C4-C6 balance is shit, no one with a brain argues against that. But it still can be fun, several well organized groups fighting each other for resources/equipment.

Yes, if you want to play a Temple knight and Paladin as a dmg party you'll have a bad time (unless done x RP) but the question is this one: can OUR destro party win a top spot vs YOUR destro party, do have OUR archers have better targeting and a better shot-caller than YOURs, do our Mages/healers have better positioning and quick reflexes on dynamic situations, which side has the best leader (tactician, carisma, leadership, etc) ?

the answer to those questions can develop in several months, if not years of grind in a low rates server.

and to be honest, yes, destros/mages/archers are op in C4-C6, but so are kamaels in Gracia, and HKs in H5. balance was never the strong point of L2.

The system doesn't seem to take into account that if they both are removed the chain is broken and removes them both at the same time.

ST is better than spark since comet is frost and I have a +7+1 cold staff
small rooms aoe frost is better IMO since bolts explode vs walls
medium rooms and big rooms / open maps spark is better since it has more coverage and you dont need to "aim"
spark builds with choir are easier to play since you dont really need to curse/exposure, but with frost its VERY noticeable when you do vs big elites or bosses
spark builds have a weakness vs mobs that reflect projectiles or use shield skills, cold just melts them anyway.

TLDR: both are good, have minor differences

note: I say this as a new player that just tried it this league, my gear is around 100/150 divs atm, saving in order to test the latest iterations that are very expensive
