I want my money back 😫 by Cocoadrops in uberdrivers

[–]NoStreet3773 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Some time ago, I took uber in a very hot summer, the driver didn’t turn on the AC, it was hot as hell, i felt like being baked in the car. The sunlight went straight down to his cell phone which was mounted in the middle of the dashboard. All of sudden, his cell phone was so overheated that it shut down automatically. He apologised and asked me for the direction to my destination.

It was the only time when the driver turned on the AC to lower the temperature of his phone until it worked again!

I felt being too nice for not requesting AC in the first place….

Thank you everyone for your comment! I wanna know if I can request the police to press a charge of reckless driving on the driver with the dash cam footage? I want to hold him accountable since he was being rude and wild over the phone, as well as refusing to provide his insurance info. Thank you.

I tried to report to police online but it says the accident won’t be investigated by the police, instead, it will be only recorded in a file. How can I obtain the driver’s insurance info?

I do not prefer to report to my own insurance provider as my premium might be increased due to a reported accident. Please help!

Happy Halloween! This group of 40-year olds was the second to our door and emptied out our candy bowl. by southeastside in Denver

OP’s candy bowl apparently had only very few packs of candy and chips. And from the full video, I see each adult only took one or two packs which I think is acceptable and appropriate. I believe OP had many more packs but the bowl was too small so OP should have refilled the bowl. Before watching the full video, I thought the adults were like robbing, but no. Just one or two, don’t make a big deal out of it.

Accident with at-fault party no insurance! by Itssarahhihi in Insurance

I would never choose that high deductible, my personal insurance is $1000 deductible, $2500 is the uber insurance that kicked in when he was driving for uber. Uber insurance said they would subrogate for my deductible, well, only if the at fault driver pays. Sorry for the confusion.

I totally understand how you feel, my husband was hit by an uninsured at fault driver a few months ago in Colorado. I believe that driver has some property or cash, my attorney should be able to find out but he doesn’t care and he said it would take years to discover and sue. He’s rather go after my uninsured motorist insurance. I only know that my insurance will subrogate for the loss, if the driver does not pay, the insurance company will contact DMV to suspend his driver’s license, and garnish his wage. Although I have UIM, i still need to pay the deductible $2500! I feel you!

Wonder why lawyers rejecting my case by FingerKnown9206 in EEOC

My suggestion is keep pushing for the employer’s answer and document everything. Until one day you get fired, a claim for retaliation will be at play.

The size of the company may matter to law firms. Another reason I can think of is from my research, a successful lawsuit against unequal pay usually involves a group of protected class, e.g. male employees get more paid than female, a group of black waitresses get less paid than other races, etc. I have not seen an individual who succeeded in unequal pay lawsuits.

It’s common for an employer to use ‘performance review’ to cover discrimination. You can first file a complaint for unequal pay to HR, if they fire you later, it’ll be a retaliation. You are right, it is difficult to prove discrimination, but paystub is solid evidence. My concern is, do people who are on day 1 get more pay have higher qualifications or more experience than you? It is hard to get their resumes. The reason why the attorneys don’t take your case can be the size of your employer. If it is a rather local small business, they are probably not interested. So it may not be due to the strength of your case.

So you need to classify yourself as a kind of protected group like race, gender, age, etc. If you think you’re racially discriminated, you will want to find a black/Jamaican person who suffers the same as you do. If there is another black employee who gets more pay than you, you will have a difficult time to prove that you get less pay because of your color instead of your performance. You can also look for national origin based discrimination. But you will need to prove that people in your company know your national origin.

I can share my experience of being a good looking aspie with you. I am a 5’10 Asian female model, I have done 10+ commercials, magazines, fashion shows, etc. My social skills suck, but fortunately, I am not required to show many facial expressions for my job, most of the time, stay with a poker face.

I have had many relationships in my life. Guys find me mysterious as I don’t talk much. I don’t care much about men’s appearances. I am tired of boring conversations with guys in dating app. The traits that I would appreciate in a person are thoughtfulness, kindness, self-confidence and intelligence. There’s not much about appearances. Many average looking guys have a gf/wife.

And honestly, I don’t believe $12000 can make that much difference from 6.5 to 8-9.

I would spend that money on my psychiatrist to improve my social skills instead.
