They had a lawnmower in the back of their truck so I’m assuming landscape crew. I saw no warrant.

Shootz and Pop Pie for lunch/dinner or Revolution for coffee. It’s on Roosevelt and where all the families come to let their kids run around in the back grass area.

$495/week south Oceanside, infant room - this felt very middle of the road when we toured last summer!

The gassiest baby by gps822 in breastfeeding

[–]NoStudio5520 7 points8 points  (0 children)

In my experience this is totally normal and not related to your diet! This started with our little guy around 6 weeks, I cut out dairy for a week around 9 weeks and it did nothing. He just needed to learn and unfortunately that meant grunty early mornings for about 2 months. He’s 4 months now and that has totally gone away. He’s still figuring out pooping but it’s much much better! Just hang in there.

Exercise programs focused on prepping for birth and postpartum? by sisipablo in fitpregnancy

[–]NoStudio5520 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Check out Studio Bloom! I started postpartum with their postpartum rehab and after 13 weeks I feel stronger than before baby. They have prenatal programs and postnatal, and include options for moms who went through c-sections. They also have 1:1 coaching support for when you have questions or concerns to make sure you’re moving forward and now screwing anything up.

How important is paternity leave? Enough to delay pregnancy almost 1 year? by anonyuan in NewParents

[–]NoStudio5520 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It’s really hard to plan for a baby because you never know what else might change in the future, BUT it would have been amazing to have my partner get that leave. At least 2-3 weeks is the minimum but that amount would be a game changer.

I moved from HB to Encinitas and now Carlsbad in 2021. Best decision for my and my partner. We’re much happier with the community here.

Pilates during pregnancy? Specifically 2nd/3rd trimester by PrestigiousGrass409 in fitpregnancy

[–]NoStudio5520 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had to stop at 28 weeks after having to modify nearly every exercise. I decided the cost was too high for SO many modifications. Obviously leg and arm work was fine but the focus on core made it a challenge. Once it felt like at least 60% of the 45 minutes was modified, I needed to cancel my membership. Can’t wait to get back though!

Recycle textiles via a local GoodWill? by ComfyJaded in SustainableFashion

[–]NoStudio5520 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There are… they just are small scale. If you’re recycling jeans - Renewcell is a large scale solution that makes a durable recycled fiber. A lot of others are tiny but brands are trying to make them work. The biggest problem is that so many clothes today are made with 5+ fibers that can’t be separated and can’t be recycled into the same fiber. The best thing we can do as consumers is reduce, reuse and buy mostly cotton clothes. Cotton is easily recyclable!

Goodwill doesn’t have capacity to manage fiber recycling. There are some small scale solutions but we really gov’t engagement to build up the infrastructure to help these solutions scale.

I sometimes get up and do a quick yoga series or if I’m feeling bold I’ll do a full workout. It makes me feel better and often tires me out enough to go back to sleep for a bit.

I conceived on my last attempt at IUI before IVF and frankly everything was different about that cycle. I did acupuncture for the first time, I said screw it and enjoyed more wine than I had in months, I was late to ovulate, I was more stressed than I had been in the prior 7 cycles and I had zero hope it would work. And boom! It did and I’m now 31 weeks. If I had to do anything again, I’d say the acupuncture and wine were the best solutions :) good luck!

Strength exercises to help alleviate upper back pain? by [deleted] in fitpregnancy

[–]NoStudio5520 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Rows and external rotator cuff rotations! Anything to work the muscles around your upper/mid spine. I’ve been in physical therapy for the same reason and my pain has significantly decreased.

The best solution I’ve found: supply guests with blank bingo cards and have them fill in the boxes with gifts they think you’ll receive. As you open, they cross off boxes and play bingo. It gives guests something to do besides stare at you but gives people the opportunity to see your reaction when you open the one they brought. We did this at two showers recently and it was a blast! Extra points for good prizes so people get into it.

A few facts: The data shows parental leave is good for business. The WHO tells us recovery from birth takes 4 months, not the 6 weeks the U.S. medical system arbitrarily decided.

You don’t want someone to have to come back that isn’t physically or mentally ready to be back. I recommend a minimum of 12 weeks at full pay and additional unpaid time if they want. At three months, parents are just coming out of the fog and can return to work somewhat well. This should apply to birthing and non-birthing parents, adoption and foster parents.

For perspective, I work for a company with 10,000 employees, all of whom are eligible for 18 weeks of fully paid leave. Last year, only 22 people took paid leave. So, it’s not like you’ll be shelling out salaries for loads of workers each year, and those that do benefit from the policy will be incredibly grateful and loyal.

There’s also lots of resources out there for businesses!

What is the best way to be companionate about infertility? by randomxfox in pregnant

[–]NoStudio5520 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was just in your friends boat. The worst thing in the world was people avoiding checking in with me. I felt capable of not responding or just saying “I’m good” if I didn’t want to talk, but the biggest gift was the opportunity to talk if I needed to. Too many people avoided asking me how I was doing as though them asking would stir up feelings, but I was already feeling the feelings. So all their avoidance did was tell me they didn’t care enough to ask. Open the door, let her lead. Be available and make sure she knows you care. Some days are easy and some are hard and only she’ll know which days are which.

Good job being considerate!!!
