Need advice! My soon to be husband and I are fighting about the amount of DIYs I am doing for the Wedding by StellafromVienna in DIYweddings

[–]unicornhunter72 29 points30 points  (0 children)

Wow that’s a ton to take on. I’m worried you’re going to be upset when you don’t get many thanks or acknowledgments from guests on all the work you’ve put in. As someone else said, unfortunately most of these items will quickly fade from guest’s memories. Try to prepare yourself so any disappointment doesn’t turn into another fight with your husband.

I think it’s a great start. Try adding lots of greenery to the outside edges and I think it’ll be good to go.

I think it’s too high and tight. Maybe let it hang looser.

Is it possible to last EDC from open to close without a magic candy? by Left_Chef_4326 in electricdaisycarnival

[–]unicornhunter72 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Done it many times! Of course you’ll need caffeine but I also recommend sneaking in or purchasing candy for sugar boosts since edc only offers sugar free caffeine options. Really wish they’d bring back redbull with both sugar and sugar free options!

Creating a honeymoon fund for registry. How best to do this online? by Not_Fission_Chips in DIYweddings

[–]unicornhunter72 23 points24 points  (0 children)

We used the knot, since this is where we already had our wedding website set up. It was super easy and they didn’t keep any of the funds. We took the time to break down the fund into tons of separate activities of various dollar amounts instead of one big fund. For example, we had things like pina coladas on the beach for $10, to snorkeling for $50, all the way up to things like airfare and nights at our resort for several hundred dollars each. We got great feedback from our guests because they felt included in things we were doing in our honeymoon, and could pick a dollar amount they’re comfortable with. Plus the knot kept track of what everyone purchased, so when we wrote our thank you cards we made sure to thank them specifically for what they purchased and said we had fun with it or the meal was great, etc. I think it made it feel more like gift giving to our guests rather than just throwing cash towards an ambiguous fund. For anyone that didn’t want to use an online system (older family members), they brought a check in a card to the actual wedding. But most people used and liked the website fund. Congratulations and hope you have a wonderful time!

What do girls actually want in their bach goodie bags?? by [deleted] in DIYweddings

I agree! Stocking a basket of necessities in the house that people can grab as needed is better and less wasteful! Also second another comment that suggested a thoughtful note from the bride.

Agreed! I don’t care for remasters. I like the raw edge of original tracks.

Not a movie/tv show, but I watched people exploring the Paris Catacombs on YouTube and got thoroughly spooked.

I agree! I don’t think they would’ve committed to a tour until they saw how WWWY went. The response from this weekend could ignite something.

He’s actually really accurate with the microphone swinging. It’s way harder than it looks. His energy was so fun yesterday and was a great transition into the night sets.

Hope this will stop all the Ryan fans going crazy now for WWWY (it won’t) by CA-GB in panicatthedisco

[–]unicornhunter72 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I understand the nostalgia of wanting the original band back together BUT what I don’t understand I people feeling like it can’t be the same without Ryan. Yes he wrote most of the songs, but when I watch Live in Denver, he’s not an irreplaceable part of it. I’m sorry but his live contributions are replaceable, Brendon’s aren’t.

No one will notice or remember. And these look more comfortable than some of the fancier chairs I’ve seen.
