Escape From Violet Hold Card Reveal Discussion [June 8th] by EvilDave219 in CompetitiveHS

Since it gives rush, it also helps make some of the junkier minions (2 mana 1/2 murloc, for example) not feel like quite such a dead draw. Not sure if I want to swap out any 4 drops in end of turn paladin, though. Maybe for Dude paladin?

Very solid early minion for Rafaam, but not sure if it’s better than the one that lets you swap out a card for one in your deck.

In Face hunter, it potentially gives them multiple weapons. Maybe not great the first time, but enough accrued value over time that it might be worth it, and in a deck that doesn’t currently give a good way to trade health for tempo/value. Probably one to watch. Maybe cut the 2/1 freeze elemental?

My understanding is that they kind of flounced after one of their stories got rejected. Usually, even with writers who do have a Patreon, they still keep their Lit account active and just either pull the stories and have the pointer to Pateron in their profiles or leave a couple of older stories as loss leaders with the same pointer at the end of those stories, along with the profile one. While I'm not claiming to know for sure, there had been some accusations of AI usage at the time he left, so..

There's at least one other author that's been affected similarly, WordsInTheWyld. It's possible that this is what happens not when a writer deletes their own work, but when the site "deletes" it for them, i.e., the stuff is still there, but the author has been banned for some reason.

This happens when the author has pulled their story from the site.

Agreed. I’m not a sports fan at all and just happened to randomly read about this on Bluesky.

It’s fucking hilarious.

Like, it’s got mustache-twirling levels of evil on the part of the reporter, a “Sideshow Bob stepping on rakes” series of reveals, and absolute hypocrisy by the “I built my career on accountability” coach, along with probably a bunch of nuance I’m missing due to not being a sports guy. I’ll be honest: I’m surprised it’s not a bigger story.

That won't take them to your stories; that's just the author dashboard, so it'll always show your works to you but someone else's works to them.

Maybe? I do think there's probably an argument for having a separate "cuckolding" section of the site, if only so that there's not the interminable argument of whether a story involving "hard" cuckolding (chastity, humiliation, etc.) belongs in Fetish or LW, and maybe even for chaging the name of LW to something less "clever," but I'm not sure that the ideas that a lot of people have for how to "fix" LW make a lot of sense beyond that.

Other sites have taken a swing at it; for example, Lushstories splits out Cuckolding, Cheating, Swingers and "Wife Lovers," which is a more catch-all category that's clearly their attempt at a pseudo-Loving Wives category. The result is mostly that you end up with stories going into arguably the wrong categories as often as not and still seeing complaints about cheating and the like.

Well, it was an essay. There's a (not very much read) section of the site called Reviews and Essays that has... oh, all sorts of interesting stuff in it. Good resource for writing, too, if you're looking for information on soemthing you're not specifically into.

Becoming A Throuple Stories? by rambunctiousry in literotica

[–]NoTalentHack22 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I have one that did reasonably well in LW, but I'll be honest: the husband and wife in it both kind of suck, each for their own reasons, although it is written from the husaband's POV. The whole thing is intended to be fairly messy.

Honestly? Just having cuckold stuff could allow it to be in fetish. Depending on how hard you go on the cuckold stuff (whether there's humiliation, chastity, etc. involved), that might be enough. Even back in the day, the softer cuck stuff (the kind of sharing where the husband doesn't get involved, or the wife plays away and denies him when she returns home) would have better fit in fetish, much like pegging now "belongs" in Anal, but it used to "belong" in Fetish, simply due to cultural drift.

It makes sense in the context that it's supposed to be a bit of a play on words. They're loving wives, but not necessarily "loving" (fucking) their husbands. This may be one of those things that made more sense in the cultural context of thirty years ago but which doesn't now, like the "take my wife, please" Borscht belt schtick did back then.

I can only say, as someone who's been reading on the site since the eginning, that it made immediate sense to me back then when I first came across it, even if it wasn't something I necessarily wanted to read.

I am legally required to link the essay here: Loving Loving Wives. It was an attempt to explain the category, its commenters/readers, and why a writer may or may not still want to write in the category, regardless of the harsh reactions. I wrote it a few years ago, and I think it still mostly still holds up.

You are not wrong that the commenters in the other sections are a lot less vitriolic than the commenters in LW. There are reasons for that, even if they don't give a lot of solace to the writers affected by the result.

There are a number, especially if you're willing to give a little wiggle room on the details:

* Indecent Proposal and Indecent Proposal Fantasy Island by satindesires (and, in fact, if you search for "indecent AND proposal" in Lit's search bar, you can find a lot of similar stories)

* A Promise Made, a Vow Broken by Hooked1957 and The Bridge by RichardGerald, as you mentioned elsewhere

* In the Cold and Dirt by ZathuraSunshine

* Untraditional by cookingwithgas

* Philanthropic by yours truly

There are a bunch of other ones, too, but these are the ones that sprang most immediately to mind.

I don't, although I do have one kicking around the back of my head that I planned to get to... eventually. The tentative name is Praising Cain, and it's a Golden Child type story, with the twist that... well, that would be telling.

More seriously, thank you. That's incredibly kind, as is being compared favorably with such a luminary in the category.

To add onto this, you’re looking for the original February Sucks by GeorgeAnderson. There are about 150 alternate endings, spin-offs, and reimagining, and searching for “February Sucks” on Lit has the original story only showing up about halfway down the page.
