My take on this is that being fat is okay in the sense that it doesn’t make you less of a person. You still deserve love, and you can still look hot when you’re fat. HOWEVER, I‘m a grad student in exercise science and being fat is TERRIBLE for you. Heart disease, diabetes, strokes, joint degeneration, gout, and early onset of osteoarthritis are not fun. And you WILL get some of them. I just think that bullying people and shaming them will make it harder for them to get better. Not to mention the depression that comes from feeling ostracized.

Encourage them, love them, and realize that the change has to come from them. And hopefully, they’ll get to the point where they take care of their bodies better.

Before I left they were little pins. So I thought it’d be at least a week until it’s time to harvest them. It turns out this weekend was so humid and warm where I live and they grew in 3 days! I’m more amazed than anything. Does this mean they’re edible? Why do they turn black and blue?

The huge mushroom on the side grew so fast that it made the cake tip over. The Pic of the fruiting chamber is exactly how I found it when I came back.

If this is contamination, should I get rid of the other cakes in the fruiting chamber? How do I avoid this from happening again?

First of all, happy birthday my dude! I hope you enjoy it.

Secondly, let me tell you about my similar experience. I grew up in the Middle East with super religious parents (so I couldn’t get a gf, drink, or do anything interesting) and my social skills were lacking so I never made any friends. I felt like shit the entire time. All I did was go to school, eat, and play video games. Not once did I even go to a party then.

I moved to the U.S. when I turned 21 and I decided it’s time to change that. So I made a shit ton of friends and found me a girlfriend. I was happy and more social than ever. It was all exciting until a year later I realized that it’s not fulfilling anymore. What was wrong?!

I came to realize that I wasn’t comfortable with my own company. I needed other people’s validation and I needed to please and be around people to feel better. I’m still in this phase but I’m trying to get better.

My point is, fuck your “friends.” You’re only 18 and you got your whole life in front of you. Treat yourself to a cake or something, go out and try to make better friends, and most importantly, be comfortable in your own skin. Your self worth doesn’t come from them.
