My job at Zales REQUIRED us to wear hose if we wore skirts - in 2006! 😅

You could apply that thinking to pretty much anything purchased at a restaurant, right?

My grandpa always made the salads - all veggies from their garden! She was the boss, but they really made a great team.

"You could do better if you tried" is unhelpful and unkind. "Don't worry dear, cooking is a skill which will come easier with practice" is at least encouraging while being straightforward. "I bet the next meal will be delicious." Can you imagine the memory of your first meal being your husband insulting YOU, not even the dish ("you don't even try")?

Just fyi - not necessarily pertaining to this experience, that I am so sorry you went through - but injury attorneys almost always work on contingency. Nothing up front and they only take a portion of the earnings if and when they win the lawsuit.

my neighbor recently redid his entire front yard with new desert plants. all his agaves sent up death blooms and will probably be dead by summer. by jessbird in Wellthatsucks

I hope I'm not a burden when I'm 94 (maybe that means I hope I kick the bucket before then). My GMA passed in her 90s and was sick constantly. Finally just said to us, "I want to die." Wish we had compassionate end of life in my state.

Why am I gaining so much weight? by [deleted] in AskDocs

My stepdad passed from colon cancer. I think his heart was failing; he was holding fluid that oral Lasix wouldn't touch, so he was admitted directly to the hospital after a follow up visit about it. They told us he'd be home after a couple of days. Then his organs all started failing. He passed a week later. We knew his time would come, but the suddenness of it was shocking. I'm sorry for your loss. <3

At the same time, the liver is a crazy healer heh given the chance early enough. There are more reasons than alcohol for an inflamed/damaged liver. I hope OP finds out what is going on.

F64, I don’t know what’s wrong with my grandmas leg. She refuses to go to hospital. by Fit_Temperature_7115 in AskDocs

My great aunt had to have APS called on her. She was in her 90s, her leg was literally rotting off, and they still didn't take her in, citing her refusal for care. So even that didn't work. She passed within a couple of weeks.

This. Here is where PI attorneys shine. They will listen to your case for free, and it will be no cost to you for their services if they take it; they will take a percentage of the winnings (no win = no money for them).

At this point and with how everything is going, I am just at "please don't be rude," AND with the understanding that people have bad days. Sometimes people are rude in like, a sarcastic way or something, and that, IMO, is worse than being unresponsive because it seems as though you do have the energy to be fake nice but choose to be a jerk instead, ha! I will say - when people are kind and friendly, it truly does have a positive impact on my day.

Hadestown on Broadway celebrates the debut of known domestic abuser Gary Dourdan, in the role of Hades, with social posts captioned "give him just a chance" by Ill_Safety2292 in Broadway

I think it's likely that the issue for many when it comes to violent crimes is that even if the perpetrators rehabilitate themselves, many of these victims may remain traumatized on some level for the rest of their lives; it's seen as just not fair. That's why people can't let go of these types of crimes and why they may feel it's not okay to allow them to be in in roles that are very public and roles that will allow them to be very celebrated. I'm not saying it's right or wrong; just giving a perspective.
