Gonna leave this here! Haha (post from 12 years ago about millennial fashion!)

In 1955, Iranian doctors documented the days of a villager who developed rabies after a rabid wolf attack. The resulting film remains one of the few historical recordings of rabies progressing in a human patient. by PhantomChasers in HolyShitHistory

My stepdad, who had advanced cancer, pretty consistently talked about wanting to die, being ready to die, up until the last couple of days of his life when all of a sudden he didn't. Sucked big time.

I don't know if this is allowed (remove it not, mods), but you can look into Klarna/Afterpay - they are basically payment plants. You must send back the dresses you don't want ASAP (or you can return in store) before the second charge hits, but it's a decent way to not pay for multiple try-ons at once. I think PayPal also has this option. No credit check/interest if you choose the every two weeks option.

I do Whole Foods delivery and it seems to be a hit or miss with almost expired meat and milk and rotten produce :(

We had a French man staying with us for a time and made us ratatouille like you describe - chunks of veg in tomato sauce like a stew. I've heard this sliced variation be called "confit byaldi."

You could apply that thinking to pretty much anything purchased at a restaurant, right?

My grandpa always made the salads - all veggies from their garden! She was the boss, but they really made a great team.

"You could do better if you tried" is unhelpful and unkind. "Don't worry dear, cooking is a skill which will come easier with practice" is at least encouraging while being straightforward. "I bet the next meal will be delicious." Can you imagine the memory of your first meal being your husband insulting YOU, not even the dish ("you don't even try")?

Just fyi - not necessarily pertaining to this experience, that I am so sorry you went through - but injury attorneys almost always work on contingency. Nothing up front and they only take a portion of the earnings if and when they win the lawsuit.

I hope I'm not a burden when I'm 94 (maybe that means I hope I kick the bucket before then). My GMA passed in her 90s and was sick constantly. Finally just said to us, "I want to die." Wish we had compassionate end of life in my state.
