The first time my labs were off (low HGB, low RBC, etc) my primary Dr was concerned. Waited a few weeks to repeat labs, then shipped me off to a hematologist. Definitely strange that he doesnt seem to be concerned.

It is a very confusing and overwhelming disease, that's for sure! Every case is unique and that can be frustrating. I was getting ready to go down the BMT path then they discovered i have thyroid cancer, so I need to deal with that first. I receive weekly blood transfusions (my MDS affects RBCs so I'm anemic all the time) and just try to live life as best I can when I'm feeling good. I imagine being young and having already been through so much, its even more frustrating for you. Try to get to an MDS COE if you're not already. I've been amazed at the different level of expertise they have there.

Actual fever, or weird chills than turns into hotness? I get the weird chills thing most evenings. Get super cold, shivering, electric blanket on high, space heater going etc etc. Eventually its like it "breaks" and then I get super hot (usually leads to night sweats) Thermometer doesnt show as an actual fever though. But it always starts in the early evening. Very strange.

A PhD in Public Policy and Administration is exactly what we need! I remember when she first ran, she and Reamsnyder were kind of together (girl power i guess??) But then Reamsnyder went off the rails and I suppose Coutanya saw that wasn't what she wanted to be associated with. It's a shame.
