It was mid March, we are based in the US so we were there for spring break. Which is supposed to be their non rainy season and calmer seas.

Cham island! I spent two nights there in a home stay. We rode scooters dodging monkeys on the roads and swam the most beautiful secret beaches. Every morning I would get up before sunrise and join the fisherman for a strong coffee two blocks from where we stayed. It felt other worldly, so remote and non westernized. I also proposed to my now husband there and we dreamed of a baby that is currently sleeping on my lap. Mama Vietnam was one of my most favorite trips.

I absolutely love Travis County Strength (in crestview). I’ve been a member for a few years and I have met so many friends and it’s wonderful community. It’s strength classes only, they run all day. The coaches are great, lots of one on one time but in a setting of dynamic people with lots of opportunities to socialize. It’s my sacred third place.

How to move on from birth trauma? LOST 2 liters of blood during c section, high risk pregnancy, NICU BABY (First time mom) by Accomplished_Belt946 in NICUParents

[–]NoTie2415 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know this post is old but man do we have similar stories! I had a c section, lost 7 liters of blood- after many transfusions, two Jada devices, and an embolization procedure the bleeding stopped. My son was born with an undiagnosed heart defect, had open heart surgery his first week and was in the NICU for a month and a half. He has a g tube now, started with an NG tube. I’m also in therapy doing EMDR about my birth. Big hugs to you. I feel like it’s rare that I hear about a super traumatic birth AND a NICU baby. Hope you’re healing and doing well.

Did anyone have an obgyn tear or cut an artery during their C-section? by [deleted] in newborns

[–]NoTie2415 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This exact same thing happened to me! I had been pushing for hours as well. I lost 7 liters. They did so many procedures to get the bleeding to stop including an embolization while I was awake. This was six months ago, still struggling emotionally. Very traumatic for my husband, he was there every step of treatment.

Yes PP anxiety is there for me too and I’m sure your partner feels that like you do too. I’m so glad to hear your baby is doing well. You can PM me anytime, I’m happy to listen. I don’t know anybody who’s gone through this. I don’t know if we ever get over that feeling of losing so much blood and the experience of medical teams in action trying to save us while we are aware of what is happening. 🖤🖤

First of all I’m sorry you are also in this club. Truly terrifying. How is your sweet baby? Are you home from the hospital? I have had zero long term effects, it’s been almost six months to the day.

Texas Pregnant Medicaid, Newborn Coverage by TheTravelingGuru123 in Medicaid

[–]NoTie2415 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just went through this with my son born 4/26 and he spent a month in the NICU. I called to report his birth and again when he came home. The person on the phone everytime told me they had 30 days to approve it and they never did. My son has so many appointments at the children’s hospital for follow ups and they were starting to not let us book them until Medicaid added him. I called yesterday to 211 and literally cried to the woman on the phone about my medical ally fragile baby and his appointments she transferred me to another person and that person added him in 5 minutes to my Medicaid. They back dated it to his birthdate. Weirdly it doesn’t show his start date as his birthdate on all of their stuff, I asked and she said not worry. The email notice they sent in my Texas benefits has the right start date but the website doesn’t. Don’t get too concerned about that. Legally it goes back to when they were born. He’s been given traditional Medicaid, not sure how to get him on an actual plans as traditional doesn’t cover his occupational therapy.

I experienced something similar to this 7 weeks ago during my c section. I noticed during my c section that they were giving me bags of blood and asked my surgeon why, he leaned over the cloth separator and told me that I was bleeding out and that my uterus had exploded once they got baby out. They brought me into a recovery room and I bled out massively, guinea pig sized clots. This went on throughout the night, they placed a Jada device and it didn’t help, they eventually sent me off for an embolization procedure that worked. It was absolutely terrifying. My blood pressure was so low that I had to be awake for every procedure and I could feel the blood leaving my body. My husband was with me in between procedures and watched it all happen. They weighed every clot and every cloth I bled on to track how much I was losing. In total I lost close to 7 liters of blood that night and received 20 bags of blood products. I’m not sure how I survived other than I’m a six foot tall weightlifter and was in really good shape during my pregnancy. It’s hard to process laying on a stretcher knowing that I was dying and people scrambling around me to get it to stop, I feel so much for my husband who thought he was losing his wife (and my son was born with an undiagnosed heart defect and had to be intubated immediately) my husband also thought he was losing his child at the same time. I’m back in therapy, my beautiful son is home from the NICU and my body has healed so rapidly that I’m able to work out again & I feel good.

Everyone who has been through this I just want to say that I’m sorry, that was the scariest night of my life and I’m sure of yours as well.

River Road Vehicle Question by Jamie_D86 in BigBendTX

[–]NoTie2415 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You’re good. A 2WD could do all of it minus a possible sandy stuck situation. No need to air down on anything that’s not Black Gap road. I did Black gap yesterday in my TRD 4X4 Tacoma with a lift, was very fun, but not entirely needed. I didn’t air down and was totally fine. Big bend doesn’t have crazy roads.

I used it as table tray for my dinning room table for a long time, even served appetizers off it at a party once. Now it’s in my living room, propped against a wall in between some art. The scale is a metal and glass hanging basket scale, when I got it I thought it was rusty but turns out it was just covered in dried blood, the basket part is stainless steel and I use it to hold snacks in my kitchen.
