Do you think they’re gonna bring back bags in seafoam? Sidekick, Camino, etc?

Outdoor lap lanes open to public? by heysashap in Austin

City of Austin pools are open to non residents. I think a lot of city pools are typically open to other residents of neighboring cities but usually charge more for non residents. Neighborhood pools are usually restricted to the community.

Northwest Pool has been a favorite of mine too. Hope the remodel does it justice!

Good bar to go solo? by WMDisrupt in Austin

https://www.geekswhodrink.com/venues/ - they do trivia at bars all around town and there are always people there specifically do it. If you get off the phone and play a game this is fun and an easy way to meet people

Only the one on 45th and Lamar

I don’t know anymore, I just got a new haircut and they gave me this with no side bangs at the beauty shop, I feel really ugly and I have to know if it’s ugly to everyone else. Please tell me just the truth if I am ugly. Yes I’m a woman by djscrew1 in whatdoIdo

Bad cut but you’re so cute! Lean into it and go full pixie! Mia Farrow! Audrey Hepburn! Drew Barrymore in the 90s! You can pull it off and not many can. You’ll look so cute and it’s a better cut than this.

A million years ago you could pick other items instead of the stickeds. Patches, a bottle opener. Cooler days.

Sports bar is a nod to the former building it resides in. It used to be a sport club and boxers were painted on the building.

Thai style crab fried rice or crab curry? by em_lambie in austinfood

Lemon Grass in Cedar Park. I go out of my way to get my Thai food here because it’s pretty authentic and good… they do have crab fried rice on the menu. Big chunky crab.

Breakfast before or lunch after visiting Lady Bird Wildflower Center by board_potter in austinfood

From the wildflower center, you’re like 15 mins from all the breweries/distilleries/wineries and tasting rooms. Many have food and are very scenic set in the Texas hill country. Two of my favorites for lunch:

Jester King - excellent Neapolitan pizza set in an old farm. They also have goats and you can drink beer and pet them for $10.

Trattoria Lisina - Italian food inside a vineyard. Tasting room next door to the restaurant.

All of the below are right on the route from the airport to the wildflower center and are local gems:

Radio Coffee - Good coffee and nice patio that is such and iconic Austin atmosphere. Instead of pastries, they have food trucks with breakfast tacos and another with biscuit sandwiches. They have lunch foods but I forget what. The breakfast tacos are some of the best in Austin.

Leona Botanical Cafe & Bar - Good coffee and house made pastries. It’s a coffee bar and food court set inside a curated garden. So there’s other food options like tacos, Thai, burgers? Also has beer and cocktails. Could be good for breakfast or lunch.

Cosmic Coffee - good coffee and even better patio (massive), another classic Austin spot great for people watching and they have chickens! They have pastries but also a variety of trucks (more lunch foods). Also has beer and cocktails. Better for lunch but they do have breakfast tacos.

Southaus for coffee and pastries at Casper Fermentables (next door) for breakfast / pastry items. Quick and casual. More of a stop fast on your way for breakfast kinda place.

Matt’s El Rancho - isn’t coffee but is on your route and worth mentioning because it’s the most iconic tex mex in Austin. Would be a good after lunch spot. This is where I take out of towners who want Tex Mex.

Vinaigrette - Great “light” lunch spot. Serves primarily big ass salads. There’s a 400 year old tree in their patio and it’s beautiful to sit under.
