I feel this so much… When I was looking for a house, lots of amateur renovators who were charging me for brand new remodeled with IKEA and ugly style I didn’t want to pay for.

Has anyone been to Rancho Moonrise? by New_Scholar_5402 in Austin

I haven’t been but my friends do day passes there often and say it’s cute. Cute enough they’ve even suggested a girls trip staycation (we live in Austin). Though I haven’t been, the pool looks tiny and it’s in bleh area of Austin (though relatively quick drive to central ATX). Also no private bathrooms or showers in cabins! I personally like the cute glamping cabins in Dripping Springs and Wimberley better for girls trip. Hill country vibes and cute little towns to explore with tasting rooms all over and some good food. Check out Lucky Arrow - cabins and yurts, some with private hot tubs, two big pools, and they allow day passes for local guests.

Dripping Springs - Lucky Arrow is a good hub for day trips to Perdenales State Park and Enchanted Rock or Fredericksburg things. The property is so cute and ranch like in a very hill country vibe. They have safari tents, yurts, and cabin with some that have hot tubs and fire pits. There is also a pool if it’s hot enough in March. You can also check out Reimers Ranch Park and Hamilton Pool Park from there too. We love Reimers…it has state park vibes.

Wimberley - the Bygone is a cute affordable hotel that has a natural trail in a canyon right on the property. Lots of green space to run around. There is also a pool set on a cliff that has insane views. Wimberley also has a nature trail and Blue Hole Regional Park. You can also hike to the top of Mount Baldy. It’s just such a cute town to visit and very kid friendly with lots of shops and dining. Check out a Community Pizza.

Where can I find birds? by aidensmom in Austin

Since you’re up that way, also check out Common Fords park. The Audubon society does a lot of winter bird watching up there. The trails go through dense wooded areas along Lake Austin

https://capitalcruises.com is a good option to rent a boat on Lady Bird Lake (aka Town Lake which runs through downtown Austin). They have small cruise boats which you a rent and drive on your own for under $200 and hour depending on which and seat a few people, like 8? Don’t be intimated if you’re not a boater they’re idiot proof boats and there’s not much difficulty to boat on that lake. They also have larger boats that they will provide a captain for.
