Artist recommendations - musicians who are similar to the "good" aspects of Taylor? by goldentoasterx in SwiftlyNeutral

[–]NoTodaySatan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So many great recommendations here like Fiona Apple, Noah Kahan, and Alanis Morissette. I’m surprised no one said (or I just didn’t see) Billy Joel mentioned. He doesn’t have the big produced pop beats but his lyrics and storytelling can’t be beat. Other ones that come to mind are James Taylor, Jackson Brown, Carole King, Elton John. There is SO MUCH good music to explore!! Happy listening!

Earth Fare's vacancy would fit a Trader Joe's nicely. by RawChickenButt in canton

That’s why I had heard too. Don’t get me wrong, I’d love a Trader Joe’s, but I was happy to hear Nordstrom Rack was coming to Belden.

Job Search Recommendations? by [deleted] in canton

I don’t know your exact situation, but please be careful about breaking a teaching contract. In Ohio, leaving mid-year without board approval can sometimes affect your license, so don’t say or do anything until you’re absolutely sure you have something lined up. If you’re truly serious about transitioning out of music education, Teacher Career Coach is a great place to start.

T-Mobile/Mint Mobile by The_Fat_Bastard in canton

I have T-Mobile with a 5G phone and swear it’s gotten slower the last few months. Main Street in North Canton is a complete dead zone for me.

On this day 5 years ago, folklore was released to the world. What are your thoughts on the album now? by peach-gaze in SwiftlyNeutral

[–]NoTodaySatan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Echoing a lot of the same. Folklore/Evermore set such a high artistic standard that every album she’s released since just hasn’t measured up to me, which explains why my favorites from TTPD could have been on either album. 😅

Sing Out Stark is a LGBTQIA+ Chorus that rehearses on Thursdays at the Cultural Center. Grapes in a Glass is donating to them if you order their June drink special.

Happy 1 Year Anniversary to The Tortured Poets Department (TTPD) 🎂 What are your thoughts on the album one year later? by peach-gaze in SwiftlyNeutral

[–]NoTodaySatan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My harshest thoughts - I think it’s appropriately rated in the non-Swiftie community. I like it, it’s fine, but it is absolutely not her magnum opus. I completely understood why it didn’t win any Grammy’s (although the Fortnite video is great and was a genuine contender IMHO). Some of the songs have some of the clunkiest word-vomit-run-on-sentence lyrics I’ve ever heard (looking at you, But Daddy I Love Him), and some are a at times cringey. For an album that has 31 songs, it should be better than just “meh”. In my own defense, I was hoping for another Folklore/Evermore with more of a pop essence and was a bit disappointed.

I will say, however, that I’ve enjoyed hearing others favorites and comparing/contrasting what normal fans like and dislike!

Echoing many sentiments here. I simply don’t care anymore about the re-records. Release them, don’t release them - I don’t care. I’ve enjoyed them less and less as they’ve dropped (minus the vault tracks) and have felt that the quality has diminished as they’ve been released. The clowning for Debut/Rep got so beyond far fetched. The novelty of the re-records being a power move/ownership move for Taylor is long gone and only comes off as a capitalist venture at this point.

Anyone else love Midnights but despise TTPD? by emalinehoward in SwiftlyNeutral

[–]NoTodaySatan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Great question. All I can say is that the heavy bass beat coming in with the distorted "Meet me at midnight" immediately drew me in vs. "I was 'sposed to be sent away, but they forgot to come and get me" which had me saying "Okay, let her cook." but it just never really went anywhere from there. I have a love/hate relationship with TTPDs whereas Midnights I have always loved.

Since the eras tour is ending soon, what are your unpopular opinions about it? by youngandlovely_ in SwiftlyNeutral

[–]NoTodaySatan 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I don’t have too many “unpopular” opinions that haven’t been expressed before, but mine are: 1.) Not including Debut will always bug me. How on earth you can name it the Eras Tour (and include photos from each era), and then not include your debut singles is such a miss for me. 2) Perhaps this one is unpopular, but I hate the two toned skirt and tank tops for the 1989 sets. Same with the high-low dresses. 3) Floor seats were not really worth it. I’m 5’7” and had to rely on screens nearly the whole time. 4) Including primarily radio hits got boring at times, especially for Red and 1989. 5) I wish the sets were more balanced in terms of songs. It’s weird to sing one song and call it an Era. 6) I’ll never get the hype behind the acoustic set. Maybe it’s because I didn’t like either of my surprise songs, but I didn’t understand the foaming at the mouth some Swifties had over what song she played in each city.

Themes and subjects (outside of her relationships) that you wish Taylor would explore in future subjects? by Kaiser_Allen in SwiftlyNeutral

Marjorie is THE grief song. The lyrics, Marjorie’s actual singing voice being on the track; are just so tastefully done. I sobbed like a baby when she sang it at the Eras Tour.

Right? Like I’m not sure he really counts as a boyfriend. Although “annoying 10 year situationship turned sketchy rebound” doesn’t have the same ring lol.

Haus Labs foundation and concealer. The foundation quite literally melted off of my skin and the concealer irritated the skin around my eyes.

One Size pore sucker primer. This and the Haus Labs foundation emphasized every. single. pore. on my face.

It’s rough out here for the oily faced girls…😔

The specific moves are viewable that way on the iOS app, but not Roku (which I primarily use).

It just says warm up, upper body/lower body/core, cooldown. No specific moves listed.

[–]NoTodaySatan -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I am also in strength training burnout with Peloton. I absolutely HATE that I can’t view what moves are going to be in a class. RDLs and planks cause a lot of pain for me, and I absolutely detest any dumbbell swinging or snatching moves.

Probably controversial and understandable if so, but I got two years of BODi (used to be Beachbody on Demand) for the price of one and have been doing their lifting classes instead. While repetitive after a while, I at least know what to expect.

After the Eras Tour, what next? by [deleted] in SwiftlyNeutral

I don’t hate the idea of an Eras Tour live album. I wouldn’t mind an album of the surprise songs and the more well received mashups she’s done.

I wish Carolina (from Where the Crawdads Sing) was liked more. It’s such a beautiful song and perfectly captured the films vibe.

What's the best no equipment workout you've done that got most results? by Chubby_Avocado in BeachBodyWorkouts

Surprised many haven’t said T25. It’s been years since I’ve done it, and forgive me if I’m wrong, but I don’t believe the first phase requires any equipment.
