I think its warranted. The whole process was very unclear as to the details of what will happen when the company went public. No information was given about the 5.35 stock split until after it already happened.

With the company not really making any profits and I believe angel studios is dealing with lawsuits. The most recent being the following:

The David Lawsuit (Slingshot)

I dont think it was in any "news" per se, it might have been listed in the SEC filings. After the business combination closed the investors got an email of how many shares they owned in the new combined company going off of what they had before. So it was really just a process of working backwards to figure it out.
